Graduation Celebration

My husband started working on his PhD 10 years ago.  We moved to Utah and went full steam ahead with grad school just weeks after we got married in 2004.  He loves his field of Psychology and has really enjoyed the entire process.  We always dreamed of the day when graduation would come years down the road.  It was bittersweet to sit in the audience and watch him graduate two weeks ago.
It's been a long, wonderful road together that's included us both being in grad school, traveling, exploring the west, enjoying living in Utah, making new friends, teaching, adopting two cats, and having a baby.  We would have never guessed what was in store for our lives at the beginning of this journey - it has been even better than we could have imagined!!
 We sat in the audience long enough to watch Kevin be hooded and then Olive and I watched the remainder of the ceremony on the tv screens in the lobby.  There were tons of kids around so we enjoyed the typical Utah crowds of little people.

The ceremony was lovely
and the weather was PERFECT!
Kevin's parents met us in Utah to join in on the celebration weekend!
Olive loved the extra attention and I appreciated the helping hands :)

 We enjoyed seeing Kevin's advisor, Tim, and everyone loved seeing Olive.  She was a newborn when some of our friends met her almost a year ago so it was fun to be proud parents and show her off.
 You did it!!!
 Dr. Jordan {cardiologist} congratulating Dr. Jordan {PhD}

 It was exciting to be reunited with good friends.
 Hugs and smiles all around!!

  1. Congratulations to all your family!!! So awesome! I had no idea that getting a PhD took such a long time!

    My husband went back to school to get his Juris Doctorate when Havalah was just turning one and finished when Henry was just over two (so about 3 1/2 years) and that seems like a long time! (He worked full time and got his law degree in the evenings.) Anyway - looking back it seems like it went by in a blink :)

    Again...huge congratulations!
