Summer Outfit Ideas for Moms

Hey Friends!  I'm kicking off the week with a round up of Summer outfit ideas for you.  I am trying to get better at snapping outfit pictures on our way out the door and it helps that my kids are getting older and can be my photographers.

1 // A pretty sleeve

I love these GAP tops that I purchased last year at Sams.  They have the prettiest sleeves and they are t-shirt material.  They are a favorite option to wear with cute shorts or skirts.

PS Happy Anniversary to this handsome guy!  We've been married for 19 years today.  He'd tell you any shirt with a Notre Dame logo on it is a solid wardrobe option.

2 // Time and Tru Dresses from Walmart

I picked up this striped t-shirt dress in  two colors this season.  I love it so much!  I added a belt big hoops and dressy braided sandals.  It's casual and cute.  I wore it to church and it works perfectly for date night, lunch with the girls and anything in between.

I found this striped dress at Walmart this season.  It also came in a dark jean and I love it so much - cute buttons, drawstring waist and pockets.  Time and Tru dresses are some of my favorite.  Scope out their end of the season clearance for some really cute dresses on major markdown.

3 // Printed tee + Drawstring shorts

If you see me out and about with my crew, I'll probably be wearing a version of this outfit.  It's comfy, cute and works for errands, playgrounds, Bible study and splash pads.

I picked up this belt bag on Amazon this year to try out the trend.  I love it and am definitely considering ordering another color or two to wear this Fall and Winter.  Can you believe they're only $8.98!?!  I love trying out trends with inexpensive Amazon finds.  I adore the black and have my eye on the hot pink, camel and black, black and white checkered and the orange  This bet bag has been around town and on all of our trips this Summer.  It has two pouches, 2 pockets and easily holds keys, a mini wallet, cell phone, lipstick and a small snack.  You can't beat the Amazon price!

4 // Floral Dress

I love wearing dresses to church when it's get this hot.  This dress is a Knox Rose dress from Target last year.  I adore that line and their dresses.  I think I scooped up every one I could find last year.  Can't go wrong with added a coordinating headband, dressier sandals from TJ Maxx and Kate Spade studs.

5// Matching top & bottom

I picked up this outfit in purple and black last year.  It's so easy and so comfy.  I wear it often with bracelets, studs and birks.

These jelly bracelets are still such a hit!  I love them so much and so do everyone I've shared them with!  They'd be such a fun back to school gift for teachers the first week of school, friend gifts or party favors.  The price is amazing and the quality is, too!

6 // Printed top & drawstring shorts Part 2

I love this combo.  GAP has great options for both.

7 // Short Sleeve Chambray

I don't think I've ever owned a short sleeved chambray shirt until now.  I found this while I was grocery shopping at Meijer (that seems to be my fashion theme lately for my stage of life) and I love it!  I wore it on our recent trip with black shorts and my black belt bag.

8 // Knotted headbands always and forever

I tried on this outfit before going out to dinner with friends and I asked Olive for fashion advice.  With or without the headband.  She said with so I didn't argue :)  This one is from Vineyard Vines.

BONUS:

If your pajama drawer could use a refresh, I have the perfect pajamas for you!!  They're $16.97 from Walmart and they are so nice.  The brand is Joyspun and they've got really affordable nightgowns with pockets and these button down pjs with pockets.  I own them in 3 prints.  I got these fruit pjs and was so impressed with the quality, the way they washed and the patterns that I ordered two more to update my pajama stash.  Here's the Walmart link: Joyspun PJs

I went to bed with wet hair and woke up to big hair and cute pjs :)

I hope this gives you some outfit ideas for yourself for the rest of Summer!

Do you have any go to outfit combinations like me?

I Finally Found New Jeans!

Happy November!  I love this month.  My birthday is coming up and I love all things Thanksgiving.  Bring on the turkeys.  I started a conversation on Instagram a couple of weeks ago about jeans.  It seems that jeans are so ugly right now!

I'd just been to Old Navy and tried on several new styles.  They were all gross.

I have worn their Rockstar Skinny line for years, but wanted something a little different.

No luck at Old Navy.

And MANY you all felt the same way.  Some of you recommended Talbots, Loft, Madewell, shopping resale shops or Sophia from Walmart or higher end options.  I wanted some that I could try on in person with my toddler in tow so I headed to Target.

I walked into the women's department and found Levis.  I did not realize that they now carry Levis.  They're $59.99 a pair which felt high for jeans at Target.  I kept looking around and landed on some options in the Universal Threads line.  I grabbed a few different sizes and styles and headed to the dressing room.  I was thankful for the family dressing rooms and super attentive Target employees.  They helped me come and go until I ended up with just the right styles and sizes for me.

Big hugs to the other moms who are trying on clothes in the dressing room with little ones who are opening the door while you're changing.  Whew!  Bring snacks and change fast :)

I love these High Rise Slim Straights.  They're cropped, have good stretch and are so comfy.  They're only $28!!  I love that you can find great jeans that you feel good in for under $30 regular price.  They come in several washes and color options.

I also really loved these High Rise Skinny jeans.  They come in several washes and colors.  I went with the gray jeans here and they are only $24!  I was shocked.  They're so soft, comfy and stretch out just a tiny bit when you wear them.  So if you're in between sizes - size down.  They hold their shape great.  They just relax the tiniest bit with wear.

I feel good in both of these new jeans.  I'm so excited to have some new denim options.  I think I'd like a distressed pair and a black pair next if I see them go on sale.  10/10 recommend trying on all the Universal Thread options at Target if you find yourself in the market for new jeans this season!

Walmart Fashion Finds

Hey Friends!  I had a completely different post planned for you today, but then I stopped by Walmart yesterday and found so many cute things for myself and the kids!  I could not wait to tell you about this stuff.  Their kid's departments were stocked along with the women's department.  I bet this cute stuff won't last long so I wanted to tell you all about it ASAP.

1 // No Boundaries Checked Hat $11.96

I grabbed this for Olive for her stocking.  She loves hats in the winter and it will be cute with her new coat.  It was $11.96.  It wasn't a super bargain - and last year probably would have been $9.96 - but it was unique and cute so I got it.  This hat comes in a bright blue/green and black and white.  It's a women's hat.

I liked a lot of their accessories, but they all seemed to be priced too high so I skipped them.  I will probably check back later to see if they clearance them out :)

2 // Wonder Nation Kid's Pullover $10.98

This might be my favorite find!  Isn't this pattern so cute!?  I found this in the boy's department and actually grabbed one for each of my kids.  I love the colors and pattern for Fall.  It reminds me of Fall in Jackson Hole or Fall in the West so I had to have it.  I love that it has a front pouch pocket if their hands get cold and the snaps are fully functioning.  They're going to be great for an upcoming trip we've got planned.  Would you believe that they are just $10.98!?!?  I was shocked.  I expected them to be at least $20/each.  They look much higher end and the quality is great.  They come in sizes XS-XXL.

3 // Garanimals Moto Joggers $4.98

I love these reinforced knee joggers for Leo so much.  They color options are awesome - they also had light gray and olive green but not in his size.  The price is AMAZING and I'm hoping they last him all Fall and Winter.  The price on these is shocking compared to Target and Old Navy.  These are about half the price and look much nicer!

4 // Time and Tru Color Block Sherpa Jacket $29.98

Maybe this is my favorite purchase!?  I've admired this jacket for weeks and finally tried it on.  It's cozy and breathable and SO PRETTY!  The combination of pinks is just perfect.  It comes in a blue, blue and purple and a few other solid color options.  The details are so good and the trim + good hardware make it look much more expensive.  No one would guess it's from Wal-Mart.  Time and Tru for the win!  I've loved their brand for years.  I looked at comparable options with other brands and they were close to $100 so this felt like a great dupe deal.

This jacket just screams COZY.  I laid it out to take pictures for you and LOOK.  Penny and Pearl came running.  It's the coziest.  I promise.

5 // Check the Clearance

I didn't have time to dig a ton, but I spotted this dress for Olive.  It was half off and just $5.  I loved the print for her for Spring.  And it has pockets!  My store had a solid pink option and a unicorn print.  Olive is no longer a unicorn fan so I just went with this option.  It's Wonder Nation.

6. Wonder Nation Ruffle Dress $11.96

This isn't one sale, but it's 100% worth the $11.96 price tag.  The fabric is soft and not itchy at all.  The layers are so pretty.  Wouldn't it be so pretty for Valentine's Day with a cute cardigan and tights?  Or Easter?  Or Summer?  Or church?  YES!  I grabbed it and am saving it for all of those things!

7 // Wonder Nation Pajama Sets $10.86

You get a two pack of nightgowns for under $11.  They're so soft and so sweet.  I loved the patterns, colors and cute animals.  No ridiculous sayings and no ugly prints.  Olive has worn their night gowns for years and they hold up really well.  My store only had these two sets and I grabbed both.

See what I mean!?!  Wal-Mart has some really great clothes for Fall.

Which things were your favorites?  I hope that your Walmart has them!

Outfits You Will Love for Fall

Happy Wednesday!  We're back to reality after a really fun Fall Break.  We kept busy and had a great time together.  I'm trying to get into a better routine of documenting outfits because Fall and winter clothes are my favorite!  I am excited to add in layers, accessories and jean jackets with the cooler temps.  I've got a few outfit ideas for you today.  Hopefully it'll give you some ideas for your closet for Fall.  I'll link anything I can from Amazon.

1. Long Dresses

This is my #1 favorite, most comfortable jean jacket from Old Navy last season.  I got it during one of their $15 sales and sized up.  It would wear it every day.

My dress from Amazon - I love this dress so much!  It's fun and flowy and it is so comfortable.  It's light weight and breathable but it is not stretchy.  It holds its shape perfectly.  I like it for church and it would be perfect for work.  I'd recommend sizing up for a flowy fit.  The dress comes in tons of patterns.  I've got it in a floral print and this fun geometric print.  I love that it's got sleeves and a pretty neckline so you could easily wear it alone or layer a sweater or jacket on top.  10/10 recommend.

Here are my Amazon links to this dress.  I own the first two and would buy the black one next!  And they are all on sale for about $30 with Prime Early Access!

2. Neck scarves & Headbands!  Add them both into your wardrobe for Fall.

I have found some of my favorite neck scarves at thrift shops and Walmart.  Others are vintage or Walmart has a square scarf section for women in their accessory department.

3 . Fall Florals

I love this Matilda Jane dress so much!  It's a recent find and every time I order from MJ, I am so impressed with the quality of their pieces.  I love that this dress works now when it's still warm and it will be so cute with a jacket, tights and boots in the colder months.

4. Long Skirts

I have gotten a few cute long skirts this past year.  This one is from Target and I am excited to wear it in the colder months.  I'll just swap the top options for longer sleeves or add a jacket.

5. Flannels

These heavier flannels are making a comeback for Fall.  I picked up two for the season and both were around $30.  I think they'll be great for cold weather in place of a jacket.  I know it's popular to shop the men's section for these, but the men's flannels that I have tried on are too long or too bulky for me.  Check TJ Maxx, Meijer, Target or Old Navy for some cute flannel options for Fall.

What are you hoping to add to your wardrobe this Fall?

I'm on the hunt for some new jeans.  I need to find a time to go shopping solo so that I can try on all the things without a toddler helper in tow.  I have some Old Navy credit so I am planning to start my jean search there.

Late Summer Outfit Inspiration

An outfit post!?  That hasn't happened since 2021!  It's been a long time!  I get dressed and put together outfits every day, but taking pictures of those outfits doesn't happen very often.  If this is something you'd like to see more of, let me know and I'll try to make it more of a blog priority :)

These are all go to outfits for me in the late Summer.  My favorite places to shop right now are Target, Amazon (I'll link anything current!), Old Navy, GAP and items I can grab while I grocery shop - Meijer, Walmart and Sams!  Convenience is key for my shopping these days.  Can you relate??  I've actually found some really cute things at all of those places.  It'll still be hot in Indiana through at least September so I'm not getting out the Fall clothes for several more weeks.

1. Floral - I love a good floral print.  This GAP tee has been a favorite for a season or two.  I picked up these cantaloupe sunnies from Amazon this Summer and they're great.  They are very light weight, fit my big head and are super affordable at just $12.99!!

2 // Monochromatic

I found these cute sets at Sams this season.  I grabbed one in periwinkle and one in black.  They're so comfy, so cute and the shorts have pockets!    Each piece was super affordable.  Add in Kate Spade stud earrings, fun bracelets and rose gold Birks and it's the perfect outfit.  When it gets a little cooler, I'll be adding a jean jacket to this outfit.

3 // Last Pool Days

If you're like us and trying to squeeze in a few more pool days, this is a really great cover up!  It comes in a pack of back and white and it's from Amazon.  I've worn them for a couple of seasons and they're still looking great.  My swimsuit is new from Matilda Jane and my sandals were from TJ Maxx earlier in the season.  The kids are decked out in Cat & Jack swim gear from Target & Crocs.

4 // Pretty Sleeves

I found these GAP eyelet sleeve tops at Sams.  I loved this collaboration!  They had really cute shorts and tops that I grabbed this season.  I love pairing the tops with striped shorts or pretty floral skirts.

5 // Knox Rose + A Clutch

I love this combo for date night!  Have you seen the Knox Rose line at Target??  It's really great.  I love their dresses so much.  I grabbed this pink dress and this white dress for events we had this Summer and have worn them a ton.  They were around $25 and have great details that make them feel fancier.  My green clutch is old from Banana Republic and my straw clutch is a big win from Amazon this season.  I carried it often and it's really affordable. Plus there is an extra coupon code for 10% off now!!

5 // Maxi Dress

I have this dress from Amazon in a couple of prints.  It's so comfortable.  And it has pockets!  It does not have very much stretch so size up.  I think it'll be so cute in Fall with a jean jacket and booties.  It comes in 30+ colors (including solids) and is a really great dress!  I have these two:

6 // Formal Dress

Amazon came through again for me with a formal dress for an event we went to earlier in the Summer.  I LOVE this dress.  It comes in so many colors and is very affordable.  I got tons of compliments on it.  Look at all the pretty lace detail!  It was lined and warning - it's low cut so layer accordingly with a tank if it's too low for you. I have it in the deep purple and would love to grab it in black.  Wouldn't it be so pretty to wear to an event, a wedding or as a bridesmaid dress??  And it's only $50!

Did you see any fun fashion items that you would wear?  Was it helpful to see how I'm styling my favorite pieces from my closet??  I hope you have some new outfit inspiration going into the last few weeks of Summer!
