We took Olive to a little pumpkin patch near our house this past weekend. We were all excited. The weather was warm and Olive seemed thrilled to be there. As we got closet to the pumpkins, she got distracted by all the acorns on the ground. She started gathering them like a little squirrel. We tried to guide her to the pumpkins so she could pick out one, but she wasn't having it. She wanted to touch the stems and gather acorns. So we let her explore the hillside with pumpkins and Kevin picked out a pumpkin for her.
It worked out differently than I'd envisioned and it was just fine. We all enjoyed ourselves and Olive picked out a few acorns to take home along with her pumpkin. Now that the pumpkin is home, Olive wants to sit by it and touch it :) I doubt we will attempt to carve it so we will just look forward to keeping it around a while as a decoration.
That is so cute! Olivia loves acorns too. She wont walk outside because the second she sees an acorn (everywhere!) she sits down to play with it.
