Highlights of My Week

I feel like I can finally say that Fall has arrived in the South.  Little Rock has finally cooled down and it's perfectly acceptable to start wearing layers, being outdoors more and enjoying fall activities.  I've yet to see many leaves change colors so I'm putting myself on leaf watch so I don't miss it.

The best parts of my week were....

1. I've been making a lot of smoothies.  My current favorite recipe is 1 frozen banana, a large handful of mixed berries, 1 fresh peach and a little bit of apple juice.  It's so easy to throw together and eat for breakfast or lunch.  I'm even more pleased that my $13 blender from Wal-Mart does such a good job.  If you have a favorite smoothie recipe I'd appreciate any new ideas.

2. I finally put out my Halloween decorations.  It cheers the place up a bit and I overheard my hubby telling his mom how nice I had our house decorated for Halloween.  Made me so happy that I took the time to decorate.  I posted a tutorial for my candy corn garland yesterday.

3. We grabbed a quick bite to eat one night this week and got to see this lovely sunset as we were walking into the restaurant.

 4. I made a candy corn cake topper for a little family celebration and I'm SO happy with how it turned out.  DIY details here

5.I've trained my cats to beg for treats.  This is what they do when I wake up in the morning, get up to feed the baby, come home from running errands, etc.  They feel like they should get a treat whenever I walk by... I've created 2 furry monsters.

  1. I add spinach and chia seeds to my smoothies. You can't really taste the spinach and both chia seeds and greens are great for you. With that I usually go with something along the lines of what you make. When I was still working I would take one of those to work every day. So Yummy! Your decorations are ADORABLE! I need to add to my collection... it's pretty small. Have a great weekend.
