First Road Trip of 2012

Kevin and I both had long weekends this past weekend
so we decided it was the perfect time to go on a road trip.
We wanted to head somewhere warmer than Salt Lake and not too far away.
We choose Las Vegas which is 5.5 hours south of us.

We have very specific road trip roles.
Kevin = the driver, hotel booker and deal hunter
Whitney = itinerary/map girl, copilot, snack planner, event coordinator, in car entertainment.

Entertainment bag with iPods, cords, batteries, books, cameras, etc.
Snacks - must pack more than you could ever eat just in case...

We left by lunchtime on Friday, made a few restroom stops on the way down
and ended up at The Las Vegas Hilton by dinner time
Our hotel was great!
Clean, nice, close to things, slightly off the strip and good parking.

Many great desserts were consumed by me this weekend:
1. Carmel brownie cheesecake
2. H-U-G-E chocolate covered strawberry
3. Cream puff with a chocolate straw
We had a great view from our hotel room.
Good morning Las Vegas!
 The weather was perfect.
Sunny and 60s :)
This was not our first trip to Vegas so we tried to do lots of new things.
We stopped in the Pawn Stars Pawn Shop.
We missed the guys but it was neat to go in their shop.
We also found a fun casino to stop in at near the Hard Rock Cafe.
It was called Terrible's and everything was sheriff themed.
My dad would probably like this.
I won $50 one night :)
Kevin won $15 on another night.
We always enjoy the drive and seeing the pretty red rock
and avoiding the snow!
Tune in for the next few days to see exactly what we were up to while in Vegas.
