I'm making myself read for fun at least once a day and am really enjoying it. I find that if I'm reading something good, then I'll make more time to read throughout the day. My husband and I are both making time to read in the evenings and it's fun to talk about our books together. He's likely reading something serious about the money system or an important world issue - I'm glad I can balance his heavy reading with something fun!!
I decided to post a "Must Read" list in my office so that I could have a daily reminder of the books sitting on my bookshelf waiting to be read. It's been really motivating to see this list staring me in the face. I'm almost done with Love Does and The Daniel Plan so stay tuned for reviews on those.
My Must Reads
(that will be read in no particular order)
Have you read anything good lately that I should add to my list??
My husband only reads non-fun books as well- currently book 4 or 5 of a survivalist series. Me, I've been reading the Gabriel Allon series by Daniel Silva. They're about an artist-turned-Israeli assassin. Seriously way more enjoyable than I would have thought, since I generally read things like.. Harry Potter and Anne of Green Gables :) -Dorrie @ Bear Den Plantation
ReplyDeleteI am currently reading Interrupted by Jen Hatmaker. It is super good!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read that one. I really liked 7 by Jen Hatmaker. I should look into this one!
DeleteHow did you like Gone with the wind? :)I'm currently reading The Night Circus and liking it immensely!
ReplyDeleteHi Whitney, I've been following your blog for awhile now and just recently on IG. I'm an online friend of Haley's. :) I just recently read Dollbaby by Laura Lane McNeal and Little Mercies by Heather Gudenkauf, both of which were great reads. I always suggest Me and Emma by Elizabeth Flock to everyone. Let me know if you read it! I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. And, a favorite author of mine is Charles Martin. All of his books are fantastic and I eagerly wait for a new one to come out.
ReplyDeleteI am so behind on reading.... My husband is good about reading books at bed time. I can barely keep my eyes open long enough to do that! But your list of must reads looks excellent! I'll need to add this to my library waitlist :)

I just read Still Missing and it was wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI read a lot over the summer, and it was wonderful! Now that I'm working full time there's just not time to read. I miss it!
ReplyDelete"Love Does" and "cold Tangerines" are both amazing. I love Shauna Niequists two other books too. And I recommend "7" by Jen Hatmaker. I have "Gone with the Wind" on my Kindle ready to read!
ReplyDeleteI loved Gone With the Wind (I actually read it for the first time in 5th grade. It took my literally months to finish). If you like it, you should read the sequel "Scarlett." It's not by Margaret Mitchell, but it's an interesting and well-written follow up to GWTW.
