Fall Break Favorites

Happy Friday, friends!  I hope you've had a nice week.  We had a great Fall Break followed up by a short school week.  We packed a lot of fun into our days this week.  We had 5 days off together and I don't think we could have squeezed any more into our days.  I was worn out by the end of break.

The best parts were:

1 // Zoo day - we headed to the zoo.  We hadn't been in months and the weather was perfection.  Most animals were out and eager to be seen.  We all agreed that our favorite time to visit the zoo is in the Fall!

2 // We celebrated Leo's half birthday with donuts or "No-nuts" as he calls them.  Everyone wants a glazed donut these days.  And Donut Bank is their #1 favorite spot.

3 // Backyard fun!  We played outside a ton.  This new tree is really showing off this Fall.  Isn't it gorgeous!?!

4 // Fall food.  I made all of the kid's favorite Fall foods - charcuterie boards, pumpkin cookies, apples, apple cider slushies, PSLs and more!  If you want to make a similar board for your friends or family this Halloween season, head over to this blog post for all the links and details Spooky Charcuterie Board.

4 // We made a Fun Fall Break to do list at the start of break.  The kids had the best time keeping tabs on what we were doing and packing in every single fun thing they could think of for the break.  There was a good mix of things.

5 // We got to see some family.  A visit to Great Grandma's house is always a little loud, but they love seeing her.  We found caterpillars to stop by and show my Dad.

6 // Chuck E Cheeses.  The kids have been asking to go forever and Kevin's mom invited them to go over Fall Break.  Olive thinks she's probably too old to return.  The boys loved it and would happily go back anytime.

7 // Fall shopping - we hit their favorite stores, grabbed some cute Halloween stuff and had them try on shoes and pants since they've all grown so much this year.  The Halloween shopping was fun.  The clothes were a battle, but we survived.  The big kids picked out these cute Halloween key chains for their backpacks.  They're just $2 in the Bullseye Playground area.

8 // Picking pumpkins.  Olive has been wanting to have a pumpkin painting party so we made it happen.  They grabbed some pumpkins for their friends and we painted.  We did tons of Fall art together.

9 // Parks.  We visited favorite parks, new parks and went on a walk every day.  Leo can really keep up with the big kids these days.  It's so much fun when you find things that all of your kids enjoy.  In this season of life, scooters, bikes and parks are always a hit.

10 // Go Irish!  Kevin was in Vegas for much of the week.  He went to cheer on his beloved Irish.  Notre Dame beat BYU and he was thrilled.  Watching BYU play made both of us nostalgic for the 9 years we lived in Utah.  It seems like a lifetime ago that we lived out west and that Vegas was just a quick road trip away.  He had a great trip and we missed him like crazy.  We agreed that it will be fun to travel the west with the kids as they get older.

We played mini golf, hit the arcade, visited the mall, ate good food, watched movies and had the best time together.  It was a busy, fun Fall Break together.  See you back here on Monday!  I hope you have a really great weekend.
