Fletcher's Family Birthday

We went out of town a couple of weekend's ago to celebrate Fletcher turning 5 with our family.  His parties were so much fun and he LOVED all the festivities.

We did a party with Kevin's side of the family first.  We ordered pizzas and had all of Fletcher's favorite foods to go with it.  The weather was lovely all weekend.  We wore as much camouflage as we could to go with his army guy theme.

Vases of boxwood trimmings or the table + his army toys.

We did bubbles and snap and pops for all the kids.

Leo loved babbling to his Great Grandpa Carl.

We were so happy to see Nana.  It was our first family gathering since Papa passed away.  There was a bit of sadness in the air with everyone still missing him, but we had a great time with Nana.

Fletcher with Great Grandpa Carol & Great Grandma Sharon.  She's famous for her no-bake cookies.  The kids love them.  Fletcher was thrilled to find a plate of them with the desserts.

Opening gifts.  So much camo :)

I wasn't kidding - the great grandparents were Leo's favorites.

Cousins!

The next day we headed to my parent's house and had a party with my side of the family.  Fletcher picked the menu - mini sandwiches on Hawaiian rolls, chips, fruits, veggies and snacks.

The kids LOVE playing with all of their cousins.

Lots of camo and all his favorite food.  At both parties we got him the dessert he wanted, added 5 camo candles and he blew only on his dessert.  It worked out perfectly.

It's tricky getting 10 kids to smile and look at the same time.

All decked out in his camo.

Papaw is in the middle of a stair case makeover hence the missing railing.  I'm happy to report that everyone was very careful and no one got hurt.

Uncle Ty & Fletcher.  My brother has come through for Fletcher a million times sharing all of his cool vintage toys - firetrucks, police cars, construction equipment and now army guys.  Many of his favorite toys came from Uncle Ty.  Good thing he held on to this stuff from his childhood.

Fun with friends!

And we continued our birthday book tradition.  I picked up the US Army Alphabet for Fletcher.  Everyone at this party signed it.  We traced Fletcher's hand and love looking back at past birthday books to see how much their hands have grown.  I'd highly recommend the birthday book tradition - even if you don't have a party or have people sign it.

Fletcher's real birthday is next week.  Then he'll officially be 5!
