Irish Students

Here are my favorite St. Patrick's Day art projects for school.
Hand print Shamrocks
with limericks to match
*warning: kids need to see many examples of limericks
in order to be able to write good ones.
Tips for doing this successfully with kids:
Paint their hand with green paint for them.
Stick to just one hand.
If you paint a thick coat, you can get two stamps out of it.
Fingers together.
If you really want it to look like a shamrock,
place their hand on the paper for them.
The look of the shamrock is better if you do fingers on the inside and palms out.
I've done both and prefer the top one.
Make your own Rainbow with a pot o gold :)
Cut TONS of strips of rainbow colored paper.
Each child will need about 2 strips of each color.
Give them black paper to make the pot.
Each some chocolate that is covered in gold foil paper.
I found Hershey's kisses with almonds worked great.
The kids loved the treat and the wrappers worked great for gold.
Let kids cut them into small squares.

We also make our own leprechauns,
Green hat, funny faces, orange hand print beard.
