The PERFECT Road Trip Snack

We got on road trips frequently and I am always in charge of packing the snacks.
Kevin takes care of the navigation and accommodations.
We make a pretty good team.

I just discovered the perfect road trip candy and had to share them
- Starburst MINIS unwrapped!!

You can find them in traditional colors, but since I really only like the pinks I went with the FaveREDs version.  They are about half the size of regular Starburst, but you don't have to unwrap a single bite.  You also don't have to deal with all those wrappers from the full size candies filling up your car.  Win-win!

Pretty Typical Snack List:
Cooler w/ water bottles, cokes for Kev and a sippy of milk for Olive.
Peanut butter pretzels
Chex mix
Wheat Thins
sugary treats - Starburst, sour watermelon or gummy bears
Blow pops
precut fruit or veggies
cheese sticks
Beef jerky for my hubby
granola bars
graham crackers/teddy graham/cookie

Snacks for Olive:
Fruit puree pouches
Goldfish crackers and cheerios
pretzel sticks

A few other road trip snack tips:
I bring grocery sacks for trash cans and make sure to empty the trash out of the car at each stop we make.  It really helps to keep the car organized.  I also pack napkins, chip clips, rubber bands and ziploc bags for anything messy.  It takes just a second to throw these things in and really helps keep you food organized.

What do you bring along on road trips??

I hope you have a great rest of the week!  We are going to enjoy a little family Spring Break for the rest of the week so it'll be pretty quiet here on the ole blog.

Keep up with my on instagram @ polkadottyplace
I look forward to getting back to blogging next week.

  1. We are getting ready for a Spring Break road trip and my daughter's #1 request is circus peanuts! We had them last time we went on a big trip so I think we started something! :)

  4. I'm so glad you mentioned these! I saw them in an ad or something but totally forgot about them - and Starburst happens to be one of Paul's favorite candies! We are headed on a road trip in a few days, so I'll be sure to grab a bag of those little cuties! I always take a tupperware container of Cheerios or Life cereal on trips...I can easily munch on them if I'm the one driving, and I can replace a meal with dry cereal any day. :)

  6. Road trip snacks are the best part of a road trip!! For whatever reason, our family's go to snack on a road trip was plums.... why plums??? Seems like a silly idea for a road trip. Might as well pack prunes! I like your choices better :)

  7. We used to drive back and forth to Florida several times a year when I was in college. Our road trip essentials were Twizzlers and Doritos!
