Christmas Toffee

I found this recipe for Christmas Crack and thought it would be a tasty treat to try since I already had all of the ingredients in my pantry.  I made a few changes and thought it seemed more like Christmas Toffee.
Here's my version for a small batch:
15 Saltine crackers
1/2 stick of butter
1/4 c brown sugar
1/2 chocolate chips
1/3 c mini M&Ms
handful of peanuts

Line a greased pan with saltine crackers.
Heat butter and sugar on the stove and bring to a boil.
Boil hard for 3 minutes or until the mixture thickens up.
I did exactly 3 minutes and I think it was a little too runny.
 Pour liquid over crackers
Bake at 325 for 7-8 minutes.

Have toppings ready to go when the toffee is done baking.
Spread chocolate chips over hot toffee.
Let them melt and then use a spatula to spread chocolate around evenly.
Add M&Ms and nuts while chocolate is still melty.
Put it in the fridge to harden.
Use a small flipper to break the toffee apart.
 Eat :)
