Halloween Fun

I ran in Hobby Lobby this weekend and everything is out for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas!  I'm sure it's been out for weeks, but it was kind of crazy to see it all.  We try hard to enjoy one holiday at a time, but also realize people buy stuff early so you've got to be on the hunt for the best things early.  I picked up a couple of Christmas ornaments for the kids, Thanksgiving outfit for Fletcher and scoped out all the crafts.  I am going to do a foot print canvas with the kids for the holidays and found the supplies half off at Meijer.

Are you looking for some fun ideas to do with your family for Halloween??
Here are my favorite Halloween things from years past.

30+ fun ideas you can do with your family at home all fall.  They're not expensive and really easy to replicate for your favorite little people.

I'm also picking up holiday books as I see them for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.  I found a turkey one a few weeks ago and have gotten all of our Halloween books for the year.  I added Room on a Broom and 10 Trick or Treaters to our library.  I got this Christmas book in the mail this weekend and am saving it for Christmas.  It was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review of it.

A Night of Great Joy by Mary Engelbreit is such a sweet Christmas book.  We are big fans of this author and have loved all of her children's books.  The story is perfect for children.  It tells the true story of Christmas in a fast, relatable way so that kids are eager to follow along.  The illustrations are wonderful with so much to look at on each page.  It is very well written and the text flows easily off your tongue.  The children in the book put on a darling Christmas Pageant and it's fun to see them acting as the Bible characters.  I'd highly recommend adding this Christmas classic to your children's library.

What fun Halloween things are you planning to do with your kids, family or friends??

  5. We did our foot print craft this weekend. This coming weekend is Pumpkin Patch time. I'm sure we will end up decorating our pumpkins this weekend also. Throughout the weekdays we have been enjoying Halloween treats, wearing our spooky clothing, reading Halloween books, and watching Halloween movies and/or the Halloween episodes of our favorite shows.

  9. So cute love all the ideas! I painted some plastic pumpkins I bought at Wal-Mart purple. That's our farm/ear tags color and I have every intention of stenciling a cow on them; when I get the chance! They turned out pretty great. I feel like I've been trying to do too many other things that I haven't got the chance to celebrate Halloween. Yes, Hobby Lobby already has Christmas stuff out; and it's given me many ideas for our wedding. Just need to go back!
