Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!  I hope you've had a great week.  The weather has been gorgeous here.  All the extra time outside has been good for all of us.  The best parts of our week were:

1 // Mickey's Kingdom

We took the kids to a new playground in downtown Evansville last weekend and it was lots of fun.  It was pretty crowded when we first got there and not the safest for a toddler, but we had a great time.  Minus me having to tell a random kid to knock it off - she sent Fletcher flying off the merry-go-round and then smashed him into a bounce thing.  I was bugged!  We walked along the river afterwards and at the end of the weekend Olive declared it the best weekend we'd had in Evansville.  Yay!

2 // Go Aces!

We went to the last Aces game of the season.  Cue the foam fingers, Dippin Dots, fun with cousins and all the purple.  We enjoyed going to a few games this season!

3 // Jason's Deli

Our plans changed last minute for dinner and we ended up eating at Jason's Deli.  It's our family's favorite.  You just can't beat their salad bar, kids pasta, sandwiches and self serve soft serve ice cream :)

4 // Bob Walther's Golf & Games

We took the kids here on Saturday morning.  Kevin made a good call to show up right when they opened with coupons (of course!).  We played a round of mini golf.  The big kids enjoyed it and Leo threw his golf ball more than he hit it.  We kept joking about how it didn't seem all that long ago that we were coming to the after prom party here.

The kids talked us into some claw machine playing after the mini golf.  They LOVED it!  They are already making plans to return.

Let me explain... Leo loved watching all the games, pretending to play and kept trying to get on this silly circus ride.  We finally said yes and he HATED it.  We pressed the emergency stop button to save him.  Gosh, toddlers are confusing little people.

5 // Cookies

I baked cookies a few different times this week.  Leo had plenty :)  He's very excited that he's tall enough to reach the plate of cookies on the stove now.

6 // Dr Suess Day

This cute Dr Seuss Fletcher got to eat Green Eggs & Ham with all his classmates at school, do Dr Seuss activities and bring a Cat & the Hat stuffed animal to school.

7 // WooHoo

Olive has been working really hard in her class and hoping to get a WooHoo (shout out) from her teacher at the end of the week.  It finally happened last week!!  She got to cash her WooHoo ticket in for a prize of her choice.

8 // Rock City

We've been going on walks every day because the weather has been gorgeous!  We have gotten in a good routine and the kids are loving playing at "Rock City".  They stop and dig and mine and have a great time.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!! See you back here on Monday!

  1. I love Rock City!! When my kids were that age, there was an area that had been under construction for several years, just rocks and weeds. My kids called it "the desert" and loved to play there. :)

  2. That must feel strange to be living in the area where you grew up! And seeing it from the point of view of mom and dad instead of teen. Have a great weekend!
