Thanksgiving Menu Inspiration

Thanksgiving food is some of my very favorite!  I don't know why I don't fix it more often, but I tend to only have turkey, dressing and all the delicious sides on Thanksgiving.  We look forward to a Thanksgiving meal at Kevin's grandparent's house and then Thanksgiving dinner with my family.

Our ideal menu would include:
turkey with gravy
soft, fluffy stuffing
sweet potato casserole
green beans
corn
canned cranberry sauce (for my husband)
pies for dessert

BREAKFAST:
My family loves any type of muffin for breakfast so I'm either going to make an edible pumpkin patch or Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins or

TURKEY:
Cooking a turkey has always been really intimidating to me.  I hate dry turkey so this Crockpot Turkey recipe is perfect!  It's so easy and nearly impossible to mess up.  Plus, if you do your turkey in the crockpot it frees up your over for other things.

DESSERT:
I love making pies and have gotten pretty good at it over the years.  Now that we live so much closer to our families I can contribute to the meal.  I typically volunteer to make the pies.  Last year I did one pecan and one pumpkin.

What are you in charge of making this Thanksgiving?
Trying any new recipes?

I'd love to give some of these new recipes and turkey day activities
from my Pinterest Thanksgiving board a try this year:

  7. I have your crock pot turkey recipe on my menu for this year! I'm also making my pies from scratch for the first time. We're having pumpkin and Derby (chocolate chip with walnuts). I'm pretty excited for all the carbs. :)

  10. This is the first year where we aren't having Thanksgiving at our house. With both my mom and myself recovering from surgery (my mom had her elbow replaced). Now we are still going to have a Thanksgiving dinner just not as much food. We will make a turkey breast, dressing, corn on the cob, at least one casserole, cranberry sauce, gravy, rolls, pecan pie, and banana pudding. I can't wait! It is my favorite meal ever!
