We had a really fun, Halloween filled week at our house. The kids wore their costumes multiple times, we ate far too much candy, stayed up too late and got to spend some time with family and friends. It was great and I'm really excited for a quiet weekend at home. I got all of our Halloween decorations put away and am officially ready for Thanksgiving with our turkeys and pumpkins out. I love this time of year!!
My FAVORITE Moments of the Week:
My kids have had so much fun playing in the leaves this week! Our backyard is full of leaves and we spent many hours playing outside this week. Thank heavens for this lovely weather. Fletcher's first Fall has been my FAVORITE season with him. I'm thinking we have finally seen our last hurrah of summer and I can really unpack my scarves now.
Fall leaves are my FAVORITE. I catch myself doing double takes every time I look out our windows because there are beautiful leaves everywhere.
We were out of town and got to go on a quick shopping trip through my FAVORITE store. I stocked up on things for Thanksgiving and picked up some other Target staple items.
Halloween was my FAVORITE this year. It was so fun to dress up the kids in coordinating costumes. I will be doing this for as long as they let me :)
Festive food is my FAVORITE! We loved these Halloween food items - ice tray lunch and candy pumpkin faces were a big hit :)
Our city has designated trick-or-treating hours the day before Halloween and on Halloween. I thought this was so strange, but it actually ended up being a lot of fun. We greeted kids at our door one night and then we went out trick-or-treating the next. I'll never forget Olive's cheers as she saw kids coming up our driveway. She was thrilled to meet them at the door and wished them HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Kevin is also my FAVORITE. He bought orange lights for our front porch, a sweet scarecrow and the best Halloween candy to pass out. It was all a big hit :)
Taking the kids to campus on Halloween is my FAVORITE. They loved seeing Kevin's colleagues and showing off their costumes. And Kevin loved having them around.
This mermaid was my FAVORITE. Everyone knew who she was and it made her so happy to talk about being a mermaid. The tail was her favorite part of her costume. She ditched the crown pretty quickly even though she insisted she had to have it. Toddlers are silly!
Trick-or-Treating was so much fun! It took a lot of effort to get us all out the door right at 6:00, but it was definitely worth it. I pushed the stroller and Olive took turns riding and walking. She couldn't pass up crunching in the leaves :) Fletcher was happy to be along for the ride and fell asleep shortly after we started going house to house.
Listening to these two was my favorite. I overheard her say, "Daddy you protect me from all da scary fings. okay?" and he was happy to do it.
Topher is my FAVORITE orange cat :) He loves to get all of my attention after the kids go to bed. So this is what my lap looks like every evening :)
We went to our FAVORITE Mommy & Me Duplo building class with friends this week. It was a pumpkin theme and it was so much fun. She's getting really good at figuring out the step by step directions to build these things and we always have a good time when we go.
What was your FAVORITE part of the week??
I hope you have a really great weekend!!

ReplyDeleteThose two leaf pictures are my favorite of your kids ever. They need a double frame!! Loved the mermaid tail too!!
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous of your leaves Whitney. Not just that you have lots of them but that they are pretty. The leaves around here just didn't do much at all this year :(. I miss the colors of fall.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun post! The Midwest really does fall so well. I've never heard of a city doing two nights of trick or treating, but it is nice that you get the best of both worlds that way! I put away my few little Halloween things this week and pulled out the turkeys. Bring on Thanksgiving! :)
