Tuesday Talk: Monkey Bread

My husband LOVES Monkey Bread.

He requests it often and is known to stop by store on his way home from work just to pick up the supplies.  We make it for date night at home and recently Kevin enlisted the help of our toddler to whip this up for dessert one night.  She was thrilled to help and he was thrilled she loves it as much as he does.

Ingredients:

2 cans of biscuits
2 t cinnamon
3/4 c sugar
1 stick butter
3/4 c brown sugar
1 T water

Cut biscuits into fourths
Drop them into a ziploc bag full of cinnamon sugar and coat them well.
Put them in a greased cake pan

Heat butter, brown sugar and water until it's boiling.  Let boil for 1 minutes and stir.  Pour the liquid mixture over the biscuits and bake at 350 for about 25-30 minutes.  The outside should be a tiny bit crunchy.  Remove from the oven and flip the cake pan onto a plate.  Serve right away.

You can also add pecans to this recipe.

I love this cute cooking duo :)
Anytime Olive hears me working in the kitchen she will go and grab her stool.  She says she's there to help and usually won't take no for an answer.  It was sweet to see them cooking in the kitchen together for me.

It's time to link up with my favorite Tuesday Talk ladies.

  3. Mmmmmm!!!! This is a favorite of mine too. Have you ever tried Gorilla bread? it is similar to this but you take a block of cream cheese and cut it up. Each piece gets a little cream cheese and come cinnamon and sugar in it and you pinch it closed. Oh my goodness, it is SO good.

  8. Monkey bread is one of my favorite things and now I'm definitely craving some! The last time I tried to make it I had a mishap with the pan size and it overflowed everywhere in the oven- such a mess!

  12. I'm gonna make this real soon. I have all the supplies on hand and it looks simple to put together. I love how you mention that Olive goes and grabs her stool, Jack does too, but it is the dining room chair. Sometimes I wish I didn't have the help with some things but I'm usually able to find something for him to do even if it isn't really helping. I think it is nice that he wants to cook with me.
