It's been a wonderful birthday filled week at my house. It's been great to celebrate with family and friends and we've still got a few things planned for this weekend. We packed in lots of fun all week long and I definitely felt loved and appreciated.
My FAVORITE moments of the week from start to finish:
My parents came up last weekend for a little early birthday celebration with me. We headed to campus to visit Kevin and walk around with my parents. Both of them went to Indiana State so it was fun to be there with them. I LOVE having them in town.
We did my FAVORITE things - shopped, visited, played and worked on projects around the house.
Fletcher gave me one of my FAVORITE birthday presents - he slept through the night a few nights this week!! It's the first time in 7.5 months that I can say that. I forgot how good it feels to get a full night of sleep. Thanks for the rest little man.
Spending my birthday money is my FAVORITE! I've visited Hobby Lobby, Sams, TJ Maxx and done some on-line shopipng this week. Olive said, "This place is amazing!!" as we strolled the aisles of Hobby Lobby and then we followed it up with a soft pretzel at Sams. Best shopping day ever!!
Notre Dame managed to win a game for my birthday week. They're my FAVORITE team, but this season has been disappointing. Future ND quarter back??
We were cat parents long before we became parents to kids so it's really sweet to see our cats and kids loving each other. It's taken several years, but the cats have started snuggling with Olive and purr when she's around. Seeing them all being sweet to each other makes me smile.
We went to my FAVORITE breakfast spot on my actual birthday. We ate cake donuts with sprinkles and Olive was less than thrilled about take a picture before digging in haha. Fletcher snoozed through most of our donut date, but woke up just in time to charm his way into his first bite of donut.
Having someone bake for me is my FAVORITE. Olive said, "Happy Birthday dear Mama!! I used all of my 'gredients to bake you a chocolate chip cake with sprinkles. It's delicious!" I pretended to eat a lot of cake and then we got one of those variety pack cheesecakes for dessert all week. Cheesecake is my very FAVORITE dessert!
Kevin has been super busy at work so he offered to pick up dinner on his way home. I picked pizza from our FAVORITE local spot Twiggy's for my birthday dinner.
I opened some gifts and getting presents is my FAVORITE. A sweet friend mailed me these darling Thanksgiving kitchen towels!! I can't wait to use them. I did some shopping for myself this year so it was fun to have packages arrive at my door. I got a cozy blanket to match our living room and Kevin got me this cute mom sign for my desk. I work hard to make things run smoothly at our house so it's nice to feel appreciated :)
Spending my birthday with my family is my FAVORITE! We enjoyed a day full of library fun, donuts, lunch dates, crafts, take out dinner, baths for everyone and everyone helped me blow out my candles. I think 35 is going to be a WONDERFUL YEAR!!
What was your FAVORITE part of the week??
I hope you have a really great weekend!!

Sounds like you had a wonderful birthday! And your daughter's face in the donut shot is hilarious! That's probably the face I would make if you told me I had to wait for my donut too. :)

ReplyDeleteThose Thanksgiving towels are awesome. I think its safe to say I love sprinkled doughnuts more than my kids (I love them a lot) and Happy Birthday! TJ Maxx and Hobby Lobby are the best!

I LOVE that last photo. So happy you had a great birthday Whitney, you deserve it. It's probably best that my birthday is after Christmas, otherwise I might just by decorations :P. I hope y'all are having the best weekend.
ReplyDeleteYay for birthdays! Happy belated! Sounds like you had quite the week of favs to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteAlso, we're the same age, how fun is that! :)
Such a fun celebration! And Fletcher sleeping through the night definitely is a gift in itself haha. My boys still wake up at the crack of dawn and I'd give anything to sleep in some days.
ReplyDeleteWhitney, Olive has been a favorite of mine for oh so long but that Fletcher with his bald head and big smiles melts my heart.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! That pizza looks heavenly. What a great way to spend your birthday! You have me super excited about my trip to Hobby Lobby on Wednesday with that picture. I can't wait! Hope you have a great week!
