Destin: Part 2

We had a lot of delicious meals while we were in Destin.
Here were our favorites in no particular order.

La Rumba
A delicious Mexican grill & cantina
 This was a new restaurant for us this year;
we loved it so much that we had dinner there twice.

The Donut Hole
no trip to Destin would be complete without a stop here
We ate donuts all week long!
My #1 fave is the powdered sugar "Angels" with chocolate filling.

McGuire's Irish Pub
Their food is tasty and we always contribute to their walls of money.
You decorate a dollar bill with your name, year, or anything else you want to include
and then you staple it to the wall.
They boast of having over $1 million hanging up around their pub.

Another new place, Johny O'Quigley's Ale House
 A perfect spot for lunch!

It's only fitting that the Jordans eat at Jordano's Pizza
Their restaurant is small so we always take it to go.

Dewey Destin's Harborside Restaurant
(It's right next to the harbor so plan on going for a walk after dinner)
We had to wait for an hour for a table
but they have a wonderful.seating area under the trees to wait.
We got to eat out on the patio.
Pretty great view while you eat dinner.
Their jalapeno hush puppies are delish!
Please, please save room for their key lime pie!
Best.crust.ever.

 Kilwins
has amazing ice cream, waffle cones, chocolates and fudge.
*It's also nice to be slightly famoose!!
We got our picture taken with Mr. Moose last year
and our picture happens to be hanging in the restaurant today!!
See us right under the e in moose??
We got fudge and chocolate galore!

 Stinky's Fish Camp
Another new restaurant for us.

We waited for about an hour for a table but they have a darling
store next door that serves drinks and has a gift shop.
The staff is really friendly and the time passes quickly.

They don't have a huge menu but their food seems really fresh.
I had crab cakes that were tasty
and I especially loved the stir fry veggies that came with them.
Our waitress highly recommended the key lime pie.
Southern Living had just tried 70 different pies and named this one the best.
I'd never had key lime pie with fresh berries but it was a.m.a.z.i.n.g.
Kind of cheesecakey, great crust, raspberry drizzle and homemade whipped cream.
Our waitress said that the chef shares his recipe so I wrote him a letter requesting it!!
You MUST give this a try.

I'm hungry after reliving all of the yummy food we ate!
If you ever find yourself in Destin, Florida
give some of these places a try.
