Cookie Recipe Swap

Cookies are my favorite dessert so I'm excited to be participating in a cookie recipe swap today!  I tried a new recipe and am anxious to give all of these other yummy cookies a try.

Let me introduce you to the BROOKIE.

Brownie + Chocolate Chip Cookie = Brookie

Kevin's favorite dessert is a brownie and mine is a chocolate chip cookie.
So these cookies are basically us in cookie form.

Brookie Recipe:
(I made a few changes to Creations by Kara's Brookie recipe to make it my own)

Brownie Cookie Dough:
1/2 c + 2T soft butter
2/3 c sugar
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 t vanilla
1 1/2 c flour
1/2 c cocoa
1 t baking soda
1/2 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
1/2 c chocolate chips

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough:
1/2 c + 2T soft butter
2/3 c sugar
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 t vanilla
2 c flour
1 t baking soda
1/2 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
1 cup chocolate chips

For both cookie doughs: Cream butter and sugars.  Add eggs and vanilla.  Then add all of the dry ingredients last.  Scoop out each cookie dough into balls, and then combine one ball of each cookie dough together.

Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes and cool on the pan.

These cookies were pretty tasty right out of the oven,
but they were even better the next day!  They were so soft and fluffy.

Whitney's Tips:
* You can easily cut this recipe in half.
*The base cookie recipe is pretty similar on both so you can stir them both up at the same time.  Just dump ingredients in two separate bowls and it doesn't take long at all.
*Roll both cookie doughs out in balls and freeze them for a bit to help them hold their shape before you combine the two doughs.
*Plan on using a few extra chocolate chips to poke in the top of the cookies right before you bake them.

Look at all of these delicious cookie recipes from my friends!!
Don't they look so yummy!?!?
They'd be so good to make and share for the holidays.
