Home for Christmas!

Hey Friends!  I'm back and am happy to say that we're home for Christmas!

I have missed you.  Life has been SO busy and there just wasn't time or energy or WiFi for blogging these past couple of weeks.  I'm thrilled to have my computer and desk set up.  I've got plenty of things to catch you up on, but for now,

I'm happy to report that...

We moved from Terre Haute, IN to Evansville, IN about 2 hours south on Saturday December 11th.  That last week was a bit of a blur of finishing up school stuff, Fletcher being sick and all the chaos of packing.  In state moves are much easier than cross country moves, but moving very quickly with 3 kids and 3 cats is no joke :)  We could not have moved without LOTS of help from LOTS of people.  Family and friends showed up big to make this move happen for us.

Olive & Fletcher started at their new school last week and they're very happy!  The kids and teachers and staff have been really welcoming.  They got 5 full days in before break and feel really calm and confident in their new routines.  That was a huge answer to prayer.  There won't be any stressing about new school stuff over break because we worked all of that out the first week.  Yay for a long Christmas break!

We moved into our house a little over a week ago and Olive announced over the weekend that it felt like home :)  It hasn't come without drama - carpeting, flooring, touch ups, lighting, etc.  There are lots of little things on the to do list from the builder that we are trying to manage.  Slowly, but surely it'll all get done - even though the house was finished in time for closing... hmmmm.

We didn't grow up in Evansville.  We grew up in Newburgh which is about 20 minutes away from us and most of our families live within a close radius of that now.  We are excited to see everyone more.  All of our siblings live nearby, tons of cousins and lots of extended family are all close.  We had 3 birthday parties and 1 Christmas party to go to this past week!!  It's a crazy busy time of year :)

The cats are adjusting perfectly.  Topher has moved 6 times so the old man is a moving pro.  He really wasn't even phased by this move.  He was grumpy with all the hustle and bustle of packing going on, but once we moved him into our new house, he was right at home.  Penny & Pearl were pretty perfect travelers.  They are loving the new space and have already found their cozy spots in the house.

Check back tomorrow for some sneak peek pictures of our new house!

  2. Thanks for the update! I missed you too! <3 How wonderful to be so close to family now, I'm so happy for you all. So thankful for the answers to prayer with the first week of school - big sighs of relief all around! <3 My Gramma was from Evansville (she lived there in the 30's and 40's). :)
