Tuesday Talk: Summer Play List

I usually end up creating a new play list for each season or at least a few times a year.  I'll listen to the playlist on my ipod and typically go old school and burn a cd for my car.  When Kevin and I were dating in high school he'd regularly burn me cds of songs he'd think I'd like.  He's pick all of these romantic songs, his favorite songs and current hits and spend lots of time making fun cd covers for me.  They had cat pictures, hearts and pictures of us on them.  He'd make cds for my sister when she'd give him a list of songs and I still have my cds from him.  We didn't have a computer at home during high school and we thought he was sooo cool to have this technology at home.  hahaha  My how times have changed!!  It's one of my favorite memories so I secretly hope cds never go obsolete :)

I thought I'd share my Summer 2016 play list with you today.  I usually mix up the genres and have a variety of things, but this summer it was very country heavy plus Adele and Justin Bieber.  haha  I find myself singing the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme song and other ridiculous kid songs so having a fun play list of my own definitely helps keep my sanity.

2. Black Shelton - Gonna
3. Blake Shelton - Came Here to Forget

  2. I love your songs! I usually share my playlist a few times a year as well, and they're almost always related to the seasons! These are great choices, Whitney and what a wonderful way to commemorate you and your husband's tradition. Thanks for hosting this week! Wishing you a great day :)

  3. So fun! I never really make a playlist, I seem to be a Pandora girl. The other day my Pandora station played Cold Play, Rihanna and Lynard Skynard back to back and I couldn't possibly have been happier. So needless to say my taste in music varies :P.

  4. I love seeing what other people are listening to. Music is always a personal thing. I agree with all those. I've been listening to a lot of 90's hip hop to prepare for the concert I went to. I've added in some Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift. I love fun upbeat songs. One day I found 90's classics on VH1 and Jack and I had a dance party in the living room. In several of the music videos Jack would point to the screen and say "there's a monster". I never realized how many scary looking people could be found in a 90's music video. Have a great day!

  5. So I recently discovered Spotify and we have listened to it none stop. I find a 90's boy band playlist and I am in heaven!

  6. Hey Whitney, honestly I have been jamming to Dave Matthews lately - it's a summer thing for me! Especially Ants! Thanks for the party this week, have a great rest of it! :)

  7. I remember when we got our first computer with CD burning capabilities. I thought we were in 7th heaven! I have a bunch of CDs I've burned and occasionally listen to them and remember the time frame. I love country music. I have Pandora on while I'm at work. I listen to all sorts: country, classic rock, Christian hits, boy bands, and my fave station is Johnny Cash. It's very upbeat.

  8. What a fun idea creating one for the summer! Takes me back to the days when I listened to the radio non-stop and now certain songs remind me of specific summer memories. And it IS nice to listen to something other than kid songs :)
