What's Up Wednesday

A little snippet of what we've been up to lately...

What I'm reminiscing about...
decorating for the Fourth of July and planning festive food.
Since we're moving I didn't get out my red, white and blue decorations.  Boooo
I'm hoping we'll squeeze in some fun for the fourth in between packing boxes.

What we're eating...
take out, grilled chicken and Black Bean Nachos

What I'm loving...
making fun summer plans to see our family
and thinking ahead to settling into life in Indiana.

What we've been up to...
just got back from a week in Naples, Florida!

What I'm dreading...
changing our address when we move.
It feels to be a full time job to update it everywhere so hopefully my checklist will help.

What I'm working on...
I'm having a garage sale on Saturday so I've been collecting, sorting, pricing, purging and advertising.  Hopefully the weather cooperates and we have a great sale.  It feels good to clear things out of the house and have a few less boxes to pack when we move.

What I'm excited about...
finding some great deals at GAP, the Loft, Kate Spade, Carters and Osh Kosh
during our recent visit to the outlet malls.  Think pineapples, chambray, ruffles, pattern, stripes and cute denim.

What I'm watching/reading...
I've been reading a lot of magazines lately.
People, Cooking Light, Southern Living, Sports Illustrated and BHG.

What I'm listening to...
A new i-tunes playlist of Maroon Five, Florida Georgia Line, Bruno Mars & Kelly Clarkson.  I usually make a new playlist of each season so it's fun to have some summer music to listen to.

What I'm wearing...
It's been sooooooo hot that I've been wearing shorts or workout clothes every day.  If I go out and about you can bet that I'll come home and change into non sweaty clothes when I return.  It's too hot for necklaces and scarves so I've been opting for big earrings.

What I'm doing this weekend...
Garage sale, grilling out, backyard fun and starting packing up our house.
I'm also hoping to run some errands and head to the children's museum.

What I'm looking forward to next month...
I'm hosting a baby shower for a friend in August
and am having so much fun working on the details for it.

What else is new...
my husband is wrapping up his last week of work and I'm making plans to bring cookies to his co-workers.  I am between sugar cookies and monster cookies.  It'll be nice to deliver them, visit with everyone and say goodbye.

Anything new with you?

  1. I love this post! First, nachos look delicious. I am so hot here that as soon as I get home from work at 1, I'm back in workout clothes. Everyone is saying its too hot to go outside - try telling Olivia that ;) - instead, just workout clothes. I'm hosting a baby shower in July and another one in September. July is almost complete - but we are having a blast planning. One boy and one girl - so we get to do both! I just picked up a copy of "the lifechanging magic of tidying up" -- I'll let you know what I think.

  2. It's so fun looking back at festive cuteness from holidays past. Loving those patriotic yummies - so cute! Hope you find time to celebrate between packing those boxes. ;) Your vacation snapshot looks fabulous!! Glad you were able to get away for some fun in the sun! :) xo - Brenda // Chatting Over Chocolate

  3. That's the only thing I hate about moving, the address change! Well I hate the packing as well, but the address change is incredibly hard, because even if you forward your mail, there's still some that goes to the old address. Or where people who aren't with anything official (such as an old friend) will still send it there and it won't go through to the new address, such a pain.

    Good luck with the move!

  4. Fun post! I can't wait to hear a recap of your garage sale. It does suck to have to switch all of your information when you move:(
