I find myself fixing snacks several times a day for my kiddo. She loves to eat healthy things and seems to appreciate a cute presentation. A girl after my own heart. So I picked up this purple ice cube tray in the drink aisle at Meijer recently and it's been the best snack box. It was $2 or $3 and came in several colors. I've enjoyed filling it, appreciate the flexible boxes and Olive gets excited to see what is in her snack box. I rinse it in between uses and also run it through the dishwasher. I love that it's small, versatile and the portion size is small enough for a snack.
I thought I'd show you some examples of how we fixed our snack box last week:
Fruits & Veggies
Fruits, veggies, cheese and turkey sausage
Movie treat = goldfish, popcorn, pretzels and mini m&ms
What do you think would be fun treats to put in the snack box?
I'd like to do carrot sticks,
maybe all snacks of one color
or try putting hummus in one of the squares for dipping.
It's time to link up with my favorite ladies this week.

Cute idea! My grandson likes crispy peapod snacks, sliced apple, rice chex, and cheesy bunnie crackers. Also string cheese, but I separate it into skinny strings first!
ReplyDeleteThat snack box is the cutest thing ever! And so awesome that Olive is such a good little eater!! I use easy lunchboxes-they're a three compartment box to pack the kids lunches in - I like them so much better than wasting baggies and everything looks cuter but it's in their own little compartment :) have a great day friend!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!!! I picked up some little tiny containers about the size of one of those squares, and I'm loving them for taking things in my lunch on work days. :) They are perfect for salad dressing, dips or little squares of cheese. I love your deconstructed snack mix idea for movie night!

I wish Jack would eat fruits and veggies like Olive does. You always have the cutest food presentations!
ReplyDeleteThis is just the cutest little thing ever. I bet it makes lunch more fun to make and to eat too!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea! My 2 year old would love this.
ReplyDeleteI am always so impressed how you go the extra mile for food items for your family. The only ideas that I would have, which you probably already do, :) is have theme days: orange foods, foods that start with the letter A, or the same letter as the day or the week, or have a certain number of each thing in the little compartments, like 4 of everything, or foods that a bunny might like, as an example. Olive could work to guess what the day's theme might be :) Even as old as my kids are, I think they would love snacks out of something like this too!

ReplyDeletethat is so cute!! I need to look for something like that!
ReplyDeletelove that I could prepare ahead of time and have it ready for after school!
Oh my gosh I love that little box! I'm going to be on the lookout for something like that. Wesley always wants his snack in a bowl.
ReplyDeleteI recently got Connor a new lunch kit and I can't even begin to tell you how excited he is to eat from it. It doesn't matter what I put in the container, he gobbles it up.
