Baked Nachos

Baked Nachos
are the perfect game day treat.
They're easy to make, yummy and very filling.
Plus they are a definite crowd pleaser and you can make adjustments to the ingredients list to accommodate all the different eaters in your family.

Ingredients:
chopped mild jalapenos
sliced black olives
shredded cheddar
3/4 lb browned and seasoned lean ground beef
your favorite taco sauce - I love Ortega
tortilla chips - I used Scoops
1 can low fat refried beans
chopped lettuce
tomatoes

Optional: sour cream & guacamole

Preheat oven to 400 and bake nachos for 15-20 minutes.

Line a 9x13 baking dish with your tortilla chips and spread refried beans around.
Add ground beef.
Sprinkle jalapenos & olives on top
Add taco sauce
*This step is crucial!  I've made these a few times and forgot to include the taco sauce once.  The nachos were very blah and were not nearly as good.
Top with cheese and put in the oven.

Finely chop lettuce & tomatoes while the nachos bake.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
We dished ours up with a large spoon.
These Baked Nachos are just as good as any restaurant nachos!
