A Wild Time

We hadn't been to a zoo in a few years so I was anxious to take Olive to a zoo while we were on vacation in Naples, FL.  She was less than a year old when we'd gone to the Little Rock Zoo a few times and I knew this trip would be different.  Now she could name animals, voice her opinions about animals she wanted to see and have a blast.  We definitely had a WILD time.

We headed to the zoo early in the morning to try to be there during the coolest time of the day.  It worked out pretty well and we appreciated some cloud cover.  We walked around for about 2 hours, saw tons of animals.  The zoo was not crowded because summer is their off season since it's so hot.  We lucked out and only had a couple of really hot days.

I packed Fletcher a zoo themed outfit just in case we did make it to the zoo.  Lucky for him we did and lucky for him he was perfectly decked out to go zoo-ing :)  Too bad he mostly snoozed through the main events and woke up to enjoy the AC of the gift shop.

A flashback to baby Olive in 2013 at the Little Rock Zoo

 We brought a stroller for each of the kids and let Olive hop in and out and she deemed necessary.  It was great because it gave her a break from walking and kept her in the shade.  PS I tried to get her to wear shorts, in typical toddler fashion she had other ideas for her outfit.  Jeggings it is.
The turtle exhibit.

The lion was really funny.  He gave us a show with a big yawn, rolling over and acting very cat like.  Olive loved it and said he was just like our cat Topher.

 The animals were very friendly and Olive thought it was hilarious to see them strutting around.

The zoo gardens and facilities were gorgeous!

 The highlight of our trip to the zoo:
FEEDING THE GIRAFFES

When you go to the zoo with your grandparents they say YES to things that your parents might not.  We went to feed the giraffes and it was so cool.  We got to get really close to them and Olive really enjoyed it.  The zoo took their giraffe feeding very seriously.  They made Olive say she promised not to touch them, made her practice how to hold the lettuce and then said we would get a refund if the giraffe wouldn't eat from her hand.  It was so funny and almost didn't seem real to be hanging out with such large animals.  Look at all of the giraffes in the background!

 I guess the animals were used to the heat because many of them were out and about.  The black bears were really busy, but I forget to snap any pictures of them.  My father in law walked around reading all the signs and telling us fun facts about the animals.  I was too busy trying to keep everyone cool and hydrated to read much.

 Proof that we were all at the zoo together.
Kevin wins the award for best looking.  Everyone else looks a little uncomfortable haha

There were fun animal talks going on everywhere.  Olive was FASCINATED by the snakes.  They were huge and we had to pry her away from them.  Fletcher was ready for some fresh air at this point.

 We got a group picture with Kevin's parents as we were leaving the zoo.
Olive wasn't thrilled to be going - can you tell??
We headed inside and her grandparents told her she could pick out one toy to buy.  She spotted a pair of MERMAIDS and was sold.  I guessed she'd want to get a giraffe, but nope, the blue haired mermaids were what she wanted.

 The boys needed a nap when we got home.

 We rested up and headed to the outlet malls for a little shopping.
Olive rode this very pricey horse.  We are used to the penny horse at Meijer and this horse ride was $1 a pop!  At the end of the day she said her favorite animal she saw all day was the horse ride!  Guess it was fun, but I would have thought she might have said an animal from the zoo.  Toddlers are crazy :)

The outlets also had fountains and koi ponds everywhere to keep the kids entertained.  Worked like a charm except she wanted to jump in and swim with the fish.  Not a good idea.

 What is the best zoo you've ever been to?

I have been to several -
Salt Lake City
Evansville, IN
Indianapolis

Memphis with the panda exhibit was the best I've seen.

I'd love to check out the St.Louis zoo and the Indianapolis Zoo in the near future.  My favorite exhibit is always the polar bears.  St. Louis has a new polar bear exhibit that looks amazing and Indy is getting rid of theirs in a few weeks.  Boo!

Tuesday Talk: Healthy Habits

There's nothing like having a new baby, getting back from a delicious vacation and your pre baby summer clothes still not fitting like you wish they would to jump start your desire to get healthy.  I'm eager to feel good, to have my old clothes fit and to lose some weight.  I'm still breast feeding so no crazy starvation diets here, just healthy habits I'd like to make a part of my daily routine.
A Chicken Faijita Salad that I made for lunch last week.

5 Healthy Habits

1. Drink LOTS of WATER
I fill my 24oz water bottle at least 3 times a day with ice water so I'd like to continue to do this 3 or 4 times a day.  I love ice cold water and know that I drink more water if I have a big container full of water ready to drink all day long.  I take it with me when we leave the house so I stay hydrated.  I'd also like to stick to water over lemonade so I'm not drinking my calories.

2. More SALADS
I really love eating salads, but it requires me to go to the grocery store regularly, chop fruits and veggies regularly and to actually stop what I'm doing and take the time to prepare them for my meals.  I have been doing salads for lunch and if I add a yummy protein my husband enjoys salads for dinner.  So I need to stay on the ball and keep stocking our house with delicious salad ingredients.  This is my favorite way to get in tons of veggies every day.

3. Eat 3 Meals + Healthy Snacks
I want to stop shoveling in handfuls of goldfish, eating cheese and crackers or snacking all day long and be better about eating solid meals and healthy snacks.  It's easy to tell myself I don't have time to make a good breakfast or that it'll take too long to prepare a healthy lunch.  I'm going to shush that lie and remind myself that I feel so much better when I eat better.

4. Less Junk
Sugary candies are my downfall.  I love all the jolly rancher chews, twizzlers, gummy bears and sour gummies so I know that I just can't have them in the house.  I have zero self control with these candies so I am not going to be avoiding the candy aisle at the grocery store and refusing to regularly put them into my cart.  We also like to eat ice cream for dessert at night.  I'm an everything in moderation girl so I would like to just have ice cream a couple of nights a week instead of every one.

5. Get Moving
I'm anxious to get into a good walking/exercising routine.  We love to go on walks, but our current condo does not have a great walking area.  So I'm anxious to get moved into our new house and walk all over our new neighborhood.  There are several good parks in our city so I'd like to be better about heading to the park in the evenings for a good walk.  We have a double stroller and I'm hoping if we walk in the mornings or evenings it won't be too hot for the kids.  I quit wearing my fitbit at the end of my pregnancy so I'd like to start wearing that again to keep track of my steps.  I'm always motivated to hit 10,000 steps when I know my steps are being counted.

So overall my plan is nothing crazy or drastic,
just lots of healthy choices during the day to create healthy habits.
Our summer is going to be busy - we're moving in a few weeks, we have a new baby that isn't sleeping great yet, we're going to be doing fun things and traveling a bit.  So I just can't commit to some crazy eating/exercising plan nor do I want to :)

I'm thinking that my 5 healthy habits will be an easy plan to stick with and my husband is on board so that will help.  We are both feeling like we could stand to be healthier and feel better.

What kinds of things do you do to stay healthy and take care of yourself??
I'd love to hear your tips or advice about turning my plan into a habit.

Save or Splurge!?!?

We've got a long list of things we'd like to add to our new home.  Some we're hoping to buy new and some we'll likely find thrifted/vintage/second hand.  We don't have a huge decorating budget to work with so we're looking for great deals any chance we can get them.

My latest finds:

// 1 //
MIRROR
My dad took down the half bathroom mirror for us and suggested we put up something pretty in its place.  I started looking and spotted a beautiful mirror at Lowes for $90.  It was pricier than I wanted so I decided to start searching for a knock off version of it.  We have Kohls and TJ Maxx nearby so I started my search there.  I walked into TJ while Kevin stayed in the car with the kids - hooray!- and shopped alone for a solid 20 minutes.  It felt like a shopping spree and I couldn't believe my eyes when I found a VERY similar knock off of my beloved Lowes mirror for $14.99!!!!!!!!!!  I snapped a quick picture with it and rushed up to the check out.  Isn't it amazing!?!?  Can't wait to hang it or more realistically I can't wait for my dad to hang it :)
 My $15 SUPER find mirror:

 The kids tag along for the vast majority of our shopping.  Olive loved helping us look for deals on carpet and suggested a "berry bootiful pink" for the house.  She also is highly entertained by "driving" while safely parked in a parking lot with a parent.

 // 2 //
BAR STOOLS
We have a wonderful kitchen island and it has room for 3 bar stools.  I've been on the hunt for brightly colored bar stools that don't break the bank.  I like some sets of two, but run into trouble because I only need 3 not 4 stools.  I wanted them to not swivel, to be wood, no fabric, 24 inches tall and to be a bright spot in the kitchen.  I have been stalking Target's website and found several great bar stool options.  This weekend all of their furniture was 40%, free shipping, +ebates, + a gift card.  It was time to buy!!

We reviewed all of our color options and both agreed that YELLOW would be great :)  The Windsor Counter Stool 24" Hardwood Threshold was the winner.  So we've got three of these on the way to us and I'm hoping they're perfect.  The price was great and they have amazing reviews.  I always love it when a review claims that the product looks much more expensive than it is.

I am glad that I was able to SAVE and not have to SPLURGE on these items!!

I'm currently looking at patio tables, rugs, coffee table and curtain options so stay tuned for more installments of save or splurge :)

The Highlights

We got back from vacation on Sunday and it has been nice to get back into our regular routine this week.  Better sleeping, better eating and the cats were thrilled to have us home.  We've gotten to have play dates and enjoyed not having anywhere to be most days.

The best parts of the week were:

// 1 //
SALADS
I've been eating 1-2 salads and day and loving them.  I have to go to the grocery regularly, chop veggies and fruits often, but I'm loving eating better and feeling better.  Each week I'll share some of my favorite salad inspirations for you.  The berry salad was one I ordered often on vacation and then the Italian salad was my compromise one day when I really wanted a giant bowl of spaghetti.  They were both delicious and I love that my toddler wants to help me eat all the fruits and veggies when I make a big salad for lunch.

 // 2 //
Kate Spade
We always visit the outlet malls at least once during our beach trips.  This year was a speed shopping version because the kids were napping in the car with Kevin.  My MIL and I tore through our favorite stores and then met up with the rest of the crew for a few final stops.  We found great deals at Carters, GAP, Ecco and Kate Spade.  I picked up this darling tote.  I love this size because I can throw so much into it and it zips shut.  I LOVE the quality of Kate Spade earrings.  I bought a pair of bows last year and wore them 4-5 times a week for a solid year and they still look brand new.  They were under $20 so I had to pick up another pair.  I opted for rose gold bows this year.

 // 3 //
HAIR
I've been overhauling my hair routine lately to make thing easier/faster.  I wash it twice a week, let it air dry and then add some curls with a curling wand.  Thanks to dry shampoo and some other products the routine is working pretty well.  I was noticing more frizz issues with the weather warming up so I ordered this HSI Anti Frizz Hair Mask that has great reviews on Amazon.  I'm hoping it'll help control the frizz and live up to the hype.

 // 4 //
TEACHER Whitney
I was an elementary teacher for 9 years before I had kids and one of my teacher dreams came true this week!  I always told my students in Utah to look me up if there were ever in the Midwest and this cute family did.  I had all three kids and the oldest just graduated high school.  It was so fun to have them in town.  We ate donuts together, talked about the funny memories we had of 2nd and 3rd grade and introduced them to my kids.  I smiled for the entire day after seeing them!

 // 5 //
Cute Kid Moments
I've decided that three is my favorite age!  Olive is so stinkin funny and fun to be around most of the time.  She pays attention to everything, asks funny questions, jokes around and is so sweet.  She tells me that I'm her very best buddy and wants to do everything I do.
Fletcher is 2 months old and getting so big!  I remind him all the time that he's just a baby.  He's busting out of his 6 month clothes and cruising right into 9/12month things.  He's already outgrown most of the things I thought he'd wear this summer.  Yay for healthy, happy babies :)

Highs and Lows of Vacationing with Littles

We're back from a wonderful beach vacation to Naples, Florida!  We had a great time - lots of laughs, memories, crazy moments and smiles that all made up a nice getaway.  I thought I'd share some highs and lows of the trip and traveling with two kids under three.   We were gone from home for 14 days so I'd say it was quite an adventure!

++ Highs ++

+ You get to hear your kids say things like, "THIS IS INCREDIBLE!"  When you're out in the ocean with them on a raft.  Kevin (the fun parent) was pulling Olive on a magic carpet ride float in the ocean and she was in heaven.  He said he wished he could just freeze time and keep her little forever.

+ It's nice to get away from home and get a break from cooking, cleaning, but the laundry follows you wherever you go.  No hiding from that job.  We did a little cooking, lots of easy snacks and special treats like KEY LIME PIE!  I have never found a good recipe for this stuff so I really enjoy eating it at the beach every year.

+ Sometimes things will go way better than you expect them to and you'll enjoy a 17+ hour car ride each way with your kiddos.  Olive & Fletcher did amazing on the trip and it wasn't nearly as hard as I imagined it to be.  I sat in the back with them on the way home and it worked well.  We really enjoy road trips so it's exciting to think about traveling with them (and less baby gear) in the future.

+ You learn to shop FAST!  We hit the outlet malls, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Homegoods, etc.  We divided and conquered, alternated who stayed in the car with sleeping kids, pushed strollers, tried on clothes super quick and ended up finding some great things.  Gone are the days of leisurely strolling through the shops and browsing.

+ Car naps are better than no naps.  We're at an awkward dropping the nap stage of life (RIP the afternoon nap) and Olive will sometimes fall asleep in the car.  It's fine if it's the afternoon and it usually helps her get through the evening in a pleasant happy mood.

+ Eating early means less waiting and less whining.  We hit early bird specials and take out that helped feed everyone early and we got to enjoy some fun new restaurants.  We got donuts super early in the morning, packed lunches so we could control our meal times and snack times and then got reservations wherever we could to ensure less waiting in the heat with little kids.

+ We used a car top carrier to help free up room inside of the car.  Kevin found a great bag, mat and straps for the top of the car and it was perfect.  We packed it full of things like strollers, baby gear, bags, diapers, etc.  Basically if we'd lost the bag while driving down the road we would have been in bad shape!  Everything inside was an essential item.  We got into our hotels late at night and then the debate began whether or not to unload the bag or leave it as is.  Kevin thought the bag would be fine if we parked in a highly visible spot.  I assumed it would get stolen because obviously criminals!  He was right and I was wrong.  We want to thank the nice people of Gainsville and Chatanooga who did not steal our bag loaded with essentials.

+ Trying new things - restaurants, foods, water activities, tourist attractions and more.  We went to the Naples Zoo for the first time and were really impressed.  Olive fed the giraffes and is still talking about the snakes, lions, sloths and lizards.

+ We saw rainbows EVERY single day!  Rain or shine the rainbows would appear.

+ Olive refused to wear a swim diaper and thought it was ridiculous I'd suggest a diaper plus swim bottoms.  So we're making progress in the potty training department because she was not going to wear a diaper and a swim suit.  Fair enough.

+ I love driving through Georgia because nearly every exit has a CHICK-FIL-A!!

-- Lows --

- Every single quick pit stop takes a solid 30 minutes.  The really good ones take an hour and make you reminisce about the days when quick pit stops were really a thing.  We traveled a lot before we had kids so we just laugh now at the amount of time it takes to pack up our family and GO!  It's always worth the time and effort to pack up and go, but it can be tiring.

- We stopped in Northern Florida for Starbucks, gas and restroom break.  We A. couldn't find the Starbucks and went right instead of left on the exit.  B. Stopped at a less than great gas station with bathrooms that I decided my hands would be cleaner if I did not wash them in the sink C. I handed off Fletcher to Kevin and he fire hose spit up all over Kev.  So when I came out of the restroom to this scene I gave Fletcher a wet wipe bath, changed his outfit and helped Kevin clean up.  D. We finally found the Starbucks and had to wait 20 minutes for them to make my drink.  E. We get back into the car and start to head back to the interstate.  Fletcher fire hose barfs all over himself and his car seat so we pull over, do a 2nd outfit change in 30 minutes, 2nd wet wipe bath and regroup.  An hour later, a little wearier and frustrated we got back on the road.

- Having a 3 year old who loves the beach is wonderful until you have to leave.  Olive threw a giant fit and had to be carried to the car.  She went limp and went out with a bang.  We got a mix of judgy looks and sympathy looks from other parents.  She regrouped a ways down the road and said she just really loves the beach and was sad to leave.  Luckily, she only did this one day and then was fine to head out every other time.

- Putting sunscreen on squirmy kids.  The worst.  Well maybe trying to reapply sunscreen at the beach when you're nervous it's wearing off might really be the worst.  It's also tricky to try to keep an infant cool at the pool.  The ocean was easier with the strong breeze, but we had to limit pool time because baby got hot.

- Screwing with sleep schedules.  No black out curtains mean that Olive popped out of bed every day shortly after 7:00.  She usually sleeps until 8:30 at home so this was a rough adjustment.  Fletcher didn't sleep great either so I felt a little zombie like and enjoyed lots of iced coffee + one afternoon nap.

- When you're switching between beach bags & diaper bags trying to make sure you have anything and everything your family could possibly need you might forget something important.  Like WET WIPES.  No mom should ever be far from a plentiful wet wipe stash.  Luckily we weren't far from a store and could pick up a pack mid diaper change.

- You hire a kitty sitter to come take care of your cat who is requiring daily meds.  You meet her, train her and think everything is set.  Then you get a call a few days into the trip saying she has to quit because said needy cat is hissing and growling at her and it just isn't working out.  Soooo embarrassing.  You hire a 2nd kittysitter via phone and hope she can hold down the fort while you're gone.  2nd kittysitter is a dream and has no problem with the cats.  Day is saved and maybe we don't have a cat from hell?!?!

- I packed one book to read, a few projects to work on and the laptop.  Silly me thought there'd be some down time to do things I wanted to do.  Turns out that only happened twice during the trip and I should have just left my bag of projects behind in Indiana.  I did pack a bag of toys and art supplies that were well used all week.  I ended up doing far more coloring, play-dohing, pretend playing and fun things than my projects which really is what vacation is all about.

- We drove 12 hours on the way back home and stopped at a hotel in Chatanooga for the night.  Our room was nice and we were exhausted.  Olive crashed just a few minutes after we laid her in bed and Fletcher decided to boycott sleep.  Since Kevin was driving, I told him to go to bed.  I stayed up with Fletcher and then we both went to bed around 1:30am.  He was back up hourly needing to eat, diaper change or just be cuddled.  I was soooo tired and then THE FIRE ALARM WENT OFF AT 5:00am!!  It was soooooo loud and both kids were up screaming.  Olive was yelling MAMA MY EYES THEY ARE NOT WORKING!  There was a strobe light going off in our room with the fire alarm and Fletcher was just screaming.  Kevin got dressed and went out to the lobby.  No one knew what was going on but no smoke and some people were evacuating.  He came to the room and only Fletcher was screaming now.  Turns out some punk kid pulled the alarm and our kids were now wide awake at 5:15am.  So we packed up our stuff, got on the road and prayed they'd fall asleep.  I took a nap and Kevin drove us home thanks to coffee.  Lots of coffee.  We made it home by lunch time so that was nice, but I'd prefer to never experience that hotel fire alarm thing again.

See what I mean about it being an adventure!?!?  It was a blast, but I think I could sleep for a day or two straight to get caught up.  Now I've got to get busy with laundry, reading blogs, commenting, replying to all of your sweet comments, mailing out birth announcements and planning some meals.

Hope you have a wonderful day!!

Saving Hundreds of Dollars with Apps

I haven't worked outside the home since 2013.  I taught elementary school for 9 years and did private tutoring on the side for our whole married life.  Once we had kids we started moving frequently and realized that it was best for me to stay home with the kiddos.  I knew we'd have to make some changes for me to stay home and I'd have to help save our family money in ways I hadn't been doing before.  We started eating out less, cooking more and looking for deals any place we could find them.

My husband is a great deal finder and prides himself on saving money.  He's the perfect balance of deal hunting where he doesn't go crazy looking for the lowest prices, but works hard to save money where we can.  He's great at finding travel deals, restaurant deals and deals when we're traveling.  I had him guest post about his favorite deals last year so here's a link to that Thrifty Hubby post.

I don't spend HOURS looking for deals.  I spend a little time each week and have saved my family lots of money.  I know people who hop around to all the different stores getting great deals, or who price match at the register, but I don't have the time or desire to go that far.  Usually the checkout process at the store is crazy because my toddler is grabbing the bags and my infant is needing attention.  I am lucky if I remember to hand the cashier my coupons and have been known to regularly stop by customer service to use those coupons I forgot to hand over at check out.  Whoops!

My favorite money saving apps:

Cartwheel App for Target
I use this app every time I shop at Target.  I typically don't look at the app ahead of time.  I usually do my shopping, pull my cart to the side and scan my items to see if there are any extra deals to be had.  I'll add the deals onto my app and use it when I check out.  If I'm going on a solo Target run I'll check out the app ahead of time and plan out my deals in advance.  You save money instantly as it's taken off your total before you pay.
Savings = $88.07

 Savings Catcher for Wal-Mart
If you are a Wal-Mart shopper this app is a no brainer!  You just scan the receipt and they do the price comparing for you.  They match prices for name brand things and do not match prices for store brands or produce.  Your savings add up in an account and you cash them in for a Wal-Mart gift card.  I frequently shop at Wal-Mart and love getting money back with very little extra effort.
Savings = $76.32

Ibotta
This app is a little hit or miss, but those $0.25 and $0.50 deals all add up.  I scan my grocery receipt, click on the deals and then my rewards add up in my account.  When I hit the minimum to withdrawal I cash in my rewards for a Starbucks, Amazon or iTunes gift card
Savings = $88.60

Savings Star
This app is a little hit or miss, but those $0.25 and $0.50 deals all add up.  I scan my grocery receipt, click on the deals and then my rewards add up in my account.  When I hit the minimum to withdrawal I cash in my rewards for a gift card.
Savings = $9.50

Checkout 51
 This app is a little hit or miss, but those $0.25 and $0.50 deals all add up.  I scan my grocery receipt, click on the deals and then my rewards add up in my account.  When I hit the $20 mark, I request my rewards in check form and a check arrives in my mailbox.
Savings = $24.00

Kroger & Meijer have great deals on their apps.  You can clip coupons, apply for extra rewards and earn points for filling prescriptions at their pharmacies.  We get text alerts for special discounts and coupons and try to use them when they come our way.  We have earned several gift cards at Meijer just by using their pharmacy.  You can find the coupons in their weekly add and it'll be something like earn a $10, $15 or $25 gift card when you fill a prescription.  So easy and such a big savings!!

TOTAL SAVINGS = over $300!!

Have you had any luck saving money with apps?
What are your favorite money saving apps?

Me Too

Did you happen to see Meghan Trainor on Jimmy Fallon a few weeks ago?

She looked lovely as ever, gave a great performance
and then took a fall as she was wrapping up her performance.

It was awkward, looked slightly painful and then she gracefully laughed it off.  Jimmy was funny, laid on the floor with her and then helped her up.  I felt bad for her, but she seemed mostly unphased by it.  I'm sure that kind of stuff happens all the time - right?

I get embarrassed easily.  Hate to mess up publicly and prefer to look like I have my stuff together all the time.  I overthink things, over plan things and over do things all in the name of getting it right the first time.  I take calculated risks when the odds are in my favor and am hard on myself when I make a mistake.  My type A personality is a lot to deal with some days... just ask my husband :)  It's not very realistic to think that I'm always going to have it together and I really should take a chill pill in a lot of areas.  I'm working on it and am making progress.

So when I saw Meghan Trainor bite it on stage my heart sank for her.
I wished it didn't happen and knew it would be replayed over and over again.
Poor Meghan.

A few days later I saw this article on msn

It address a photo shop faux pas and her performance on Jimmy Fallon.
Click over and read what she had to say -
she talks about photo shop, spanx and her fall.

I was shocked to hear that she had the opportunity to redo the performance and edit out her fall.  She opted NOT to edit out her embarrassing moment and instead just laugh at herself.  I was surprised and loved her reasoning behind it.  I don't know a ton about Ms. Trainor other than that she has catchy songs, pretty makeup and a sassy personality.  I like her a little more now that I've seen her confidence come through and the fact that she's is so real.  We all make mistakes and fall down and she's fine with the world knowing about it.

I love that!  Relax and be real :)

Summer Fun To Do List

When the calendar says JUNE, it feels like summer has arrived.  We're really excited for the coming summer and have lots of things we'd like to squeeze in from now through August.  So instead of setting goals for the summer, I am going to share our list of fun things we're hoping to get to do together as a family this summer.

1. Try out several new RESTAURANTS in our city.  We've got coupons and a long list of recommended places to visit so we are going to work our way through them.

2. Go on family WALKS around our new neighborhood and favorite park.

3. BACKYARD fun!  We've missed having a backyard so we are definitely going to be sidewalk chalking, bubble blowing, water table playing, pool hopping, sand boxing and working in our yard.

4. GRILLING out.  We have a nice deck so we plan to eat many meals on the patio.

5. MOVE into our new house and settle into our place.  Decorate, unpack and hang things on the walls.  I cannot wait!!

6. Go on a few ROAD TRIPS in Indiana and outside of Indiana.  Visit family and friends and explore some new places.  I'd love to take Olive to a zoo nearby or maybe a children's museum.

7. CELEBRATE July 4th, Kevin's birthday, our 12th anniversary and more.

8. Head to the POOL as much as possible and Kevin wants to GOLF a lot.  We'll go to the pool while he golfs and occasionally hop on the golf cart with him to ride around and watch him play.

9. Work hard to plan and fix HEALTHY meals for the family.  I'd love to get back into wearing my Fitbit, eating better and exercising regularly.

10. Take advantage of fun LOCAL festivals, activities and traditions during the summer.  It's our first summer in our new city so I'm keeping my eyes and ears open for all the fun things going on.

11. Head to the BEACH for our annual trip with my in laws.

12. Hang out with our FRIENDS.  Invite people over to our house and accept invitations to do fun things with them.

That pretty much covers all the fun things we'd like to do this summer.  There are plenty of practical things like finding a church home, unpacking a zillion boxes, potty training, Kevin working on some work projects, etc. but it's more fun to focus on the FUN things :)

What things are on your summer FUN to do list??
