My favorite parts... Halloween recap, Thanksgiving decor and a book review of Capital Gaines at the end!! Don't miss it.
These two cuties. We had a blast doing all the Halloween things this week. Our plan to be Cinderella and Prince Charming had to change because it was COLD. Ballerina Bunny & Farmer Fletcher worked out great. Olive hopped everywhere she went, loved her whiskers and nose along with her bunny tail belt. Fletcher was pleased with his warm outfit and yelled TICK OR TEE and TANK EWWWW at nearly every house we stopped at.
We stopped by Kevin's office to say hello to all of his coworkers. The kids got more candy and were super friendly.
Kevin was teaching on Halloween so I made his class Halloween treat bags. I love making fun holiday treats for his students.
Free donuts from our favorite local spot if you come in costume. Done! We showed up with all of our friends and enjoyed a sweet treat.
Halloween Story Time in costumes. You bet! My kids LOVE story time. They sing, dance, read and learn a lot each time we go. Fletcher loves the puppets and will slowly sneak his way up to the front to give the puppets a hug.
My kids LOVE getting mail. Olive always asks if anything in the mailbox has her name on it. So they were thrilled to find Halloween cards and a Halloween package in the mail.
We strolled around our neighborhood and the kids loved collecting candy.
Olive was happy to talk to the neighbors and Fletcher would grab an entire handful of candy when he was offered the bowl. He is a chocoholic.
We pushed the stroller and then the kids would hop out when we got to a house. Funny story: When we strolled up to a big crowd of people that we didn't know Olive shouted OUT OF OUR WAY! I smiled and said Happy Halloween :) Guess she thought they were slowing us down.
Fletcher mastered the art of chewing open almost every single piece of candy he got his hands on and may have eaten a tootsie roll wrapper or two that night. He wasn't interested in waiting for us to open his candy for him.
My kids were nutso after a day full of sugary fun. They were running around our house like loons before bed. See what I mean:
I love these felt ball garlands. They're so pretty and usually so pricey. I was really excited to find this Harvest garland at TJ Maxx for $12.99 this week. It'll be so pretty on my November mantel.
Olive's preK school pictures came back this week and I just LOVE how they turned out. She was so proud to show me and I was so happy to see her real smile for the pictures. I think the photographer perfectly captured 4 year old Olive.
I read Capital Gaines: Smart Things I Learned Doing Stupid Stuff by Chip Gaines this week and LOVED it. I'm a big fan of Chip and Jo, Fixer Upper and their Magnolia brand. I read their book The Magnolia Story and learned so many new things about their family and their business in this book. Chip is a fun writer and his personality really shines through in this book. There are good stories, handwritten notes, pictures and the book feels so authentic. Chip writes just like he acts on the show so I imagine if you ran into him in Waco you'd get the exact same Chip. I loved all of his marriage advice and loved hearing him talk about being on the same team as your spouse. He shares business tips, personal tips and life lessons throughout the book. Chip is really inspiring and has a lot of good advice to share. Anyone wanting to be an entrepreneur or looking for tips to keep family top priority in a growing business would really benefit from reading this book. I'd highly recommend this book to anyone.
*I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review of it.
Hope you had a great week!!

SO much fun. I laughed over the pumpkin in the stroller. That is TOTALLY something my girls would have done... maybe still would do too. I also am super jealous of that donut shop. We would have kept going back in different costumes ;). I hope y'all have an amazing weekend friend.
