Weekending

Happy Monday!  Hope you had a wonderful weekend.  The weather was amazing here and we had a nice, relaxing time together.  We had some surprise things come up and they all really made our weekend wonderful.

Friday:
So many sweet things happened on Friday.  There was a slight chill in the air on our way to school.  Olive wore my favorite Matilda Jane dress and headed off to enjoy her last day as star student.

I met up with friends in the morning so the kids could play and then we ran to Chick-Fil-A for lunch.  Fletcher and I love their nuggets and mac & cheese.  We waved to some friends in the drive through and then when we went to pay for our meal we found out that an "anonymous person" bought our lunch!  I texted my friend to say thank you for that super sweet surprise.  It's amazing how that little gesture really made my day!

Then another friend surprised us and stopped by our house that afternoon with an icy drink for Fletcher, fruit, snacks and a fun dinner.  It felt so good to be seen, hugged and encouraged after a wild week.

Olive is always tired when she gets home from school.  These two love to snuggle on the couch together when she gets home.  They call it "Cutie Patootie Time" and it melts my heart.

We headed to Olive's school to play on the playground after school. She was dying to show off her favorite things to play at recess.  Then we got a spontaneous invitation to meet up with some friends for dessert and drinks in our neighborhood.  We ate a quick dinner and rode our bikes over to their house.  It was so much fun!  I'm not great with making or accepting spontaneous invitations so this was a good reminder that it's a good thing.  I whipped up some brownies, we ate a quick dinner and biked over.  We all enjoyed ourselves!  The kids ran around while the adults hung out.  We stayed til almost dark and rode our bikes back home.

Saturday:
Everyone slept in and I couldn't have been happier!  No alarms for us.  And the kids told me to stay in bed a little longer and they'd wake up the house for me.  The had all the lights on, curtains open and were mixing up my favorite iced coffee drink to surprise me.  I felt like I hit the lottery :)  We stayed close to home, worked on some projects, played outside and Kevin did yardwork.  He got our favorite Qdoba take out for dinner and we had a movie night at home.

Fletcher is healing up nicely so we went on several walks, slow bike rides and played outside all weekend.

Sunday:
We missed church again this week since Fletcher still has staples in his head.  His 3 year old class is big and I just couldn't take the risk of him rough housing around and reinjuring his head.

My parents came in town for a quick visit!  We'd originally planned to go visit them this weekend, but life was too chaotic to leave town.  We loved having them here and they helped us tackle several things on our project to do list.  We ate some yummy snacks, played outside and then ate dinner at our favorite pizza place in town.

Hope you had a great weekend and that your Monday is off to a good start!
