Oh Hello Friday!!

Another great week full of smiles at our house.
The best parts of my week were:

1. I declared this summer the "Summer of the Panini Plate" in the hopes that we'll come up with some delicious panini sandwiches this year.  I started using my George Foreman grill as a panini press and it works like a charm!  Our favorite combination is: ham, sharp cheddar and spicy mustard on sour dough bread with LOTS of fresh fruits and veggie sides.

2. Several people have recommended checking out the headband section at Hobby Lobby.  I'd never paid much attention to them before so I was really excited to stop in this week.  They had quite the selection!  I always look for headbands that are soft, a little sassy and unique - these definitely fit the bill!  I bought a pretty pink one and a gray/white striped one for $3.99 each.  Olive and I are thrilled for her to wear them this summer!!

3. My husband texted me to let me know that Target is having a great on-line deal until tomorrow: 20% off rug purchases of $125 or more.  What's better than your husband endorsing big sales at Target?!?!?  We are moving in about a month and we knew we wanted a statement rug in our family room.  We both did some browsing on-line and then came together to make the final decision.  Turns out that we actually have pretty similar taste in rugs (minus a paisley pattern or two) and it was really easy to decide on a favorite.  We wanted something bright and cheery and this gold pattern was the winner!!
Can't wait to start decorating our new family room.

4.  I've read Pinkalicious to my daughter several times this week.  She enjoys it and I love that it was the guest book at her 1st birthday party!  She will always remember who was there to celebrate with her when she reads this book.  I wrote about all the guest book details here.

5. Olive got this 4-in-1 trike for her birthday last week and she LOVES it!  It has a snack tray and cup holder so we load it up with cheerios and water before taking it for a spin around the neighborhood.  She holds onto the handle bars like she's actually driving it and it's fun to push her around.  She waves at all the neighbors and seems pretty proud of her new wheels.

PS Today is National Donut Day and I'm going to make these yummy donuts for breakfast!!  Tune back in next week for my review of Sally's Baking Addiction recipe!!
These soft, moist, and cakey Chocolate Frosted Donuts are baked not fried - and they are so easy to make!
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  6. Okay, I never thought of using my George as a panini press - definitely going to have to try that out. I actually just snagged a slipcover from Target during the sale, but your rug is so much more fun! Hope you have a great weekend!
