June Goals

Another month, another list of goals that I am going to try really hard to accomplish.  I realize that you may not be super interested to read my personal goals for the month, however, It helps me to say them "out loud" and to be accountable.  Here's what I'll be up to this month:

1. Be active every day and don't be afraid to sweat a bit
(or A LOT since it's hella humid in Arkansas :)

2. Write birthday thank yous to everyone who helped me and made Olive feel extra special on her first birthday.

3. Pull the trigger on buying Kevin's graduation gift.  He technically graduated with his PhD in May but he's not officially done until he finishes his internship on July 11th.  I have several good ideas and just need to make a decision and order it.

4. Figure out the logistics and details of our move to Mississippi in July.  We've rented our Penske truck so now we just need a packing, loading, baby watching, unloading game plan.

5. Make a dentist appointment.  I've never been a big fan of the dentist but it seems like even more of a hassle now that I have to make childcare arrangements.  Luckily, my hubby can use his sick days to help me out and we'll get to spend a week day together.  Win-win for us - well except for the part where I'll have to go to the dentist :(

6. We've got approximately 6 weeks left in Arkansas and I'd like to try as many new restaurants, visit favorite spots, and such before we leave.  We made an Arkansas bucket list so I'd like to start mapping out the rest of our time here.

7. I'd like to find a new cell phone case.  Maybe polka-dots, monogrammed, or gold but definitely not chevron :)  I have an Otterbox which I love because it's so durable but I do not love the fact that it's showing lots of wear and tear.  I checked out the kiosk at the mall and was underwhelmed.  Do you have a case that you love?  I have an iphone 4s so I'd love an etsy shop recommendations or other on-line options.

8. Read for fun.  I've been HORRIBLE at reading for pleasure and it's not for lack of good reading material.  I have a cute basket of good books that are kind of haunting me right now.  I have trouble reading for fun when Olive is awake because she's into everything and I can't take my eyes off of her.  Plus she's started climbing and likes to use me as a human jungle gym.  That doesn't really go well with leisurely reading a book.  I should make more of an effort at night or during nap time but I'm usually busy showering, doing dishes, laundry, blogging, etc.

9. Get out my summer clothes and shoes and switch my closet over from winter.  I have things awkwardly packed in boxes right now so I need to devote a good chunk of time to this project when Kevin is home to watch Olive.  She loves dumping out boxes and licking shoe bottoms right now.  Neither of which would be super helpful for this type of project!

10. Write some notes of encouragement... I have a whole list of people who are needing Get Well Soon cards sent their way.  It seems like I'm finding out daily that another friend or loved one is sick and needing a little extra love so I'd like to get these in the mail ASAP.

11. Go to a story time/baby music class with another mommy friend.  We haven't been able to coordinate our schedules in the past few weeks so I want to make more of an effort to get to these kind of classes this month.  I think Olive would enjoy them and it's always good to get out of the house.

12. I've started on-line rug shopping because we are going to be needing rugs in our new place.  I've found some on IKEA's website that I like and need to broaden my search.  Have you had any luck with on-line rug shopping??  I'd LOVE to know what you'd recommend.  I don't want to invest TONS of money but I know that a great rug will really pull a room together.

Well it looks like June is going to be B-U-S-Y for me;
How's your June shaping up??

  1. Oh moving can be such hard work but yet it is very exciting. I love that y'all made an Arkansas bucket list. Jeremy and I need to do that even if we aren't moving. I think it would be a fun challenge.
