Pecan Pie Bars

I mentioned on Friday that I'd made some delicious
Pecan Pie Bars
so I wanted to share the recipe with you!
It's my mom's recipe.

You'll need the following things:
CRUST:
3/4 c shortening
3/4 c powdered sugar
1 1/2 c flour
FILLING:
2 eggs
1 c brown sugar
2 T flour
1/2 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
1/2 t vanilla
1 1/2 c chopped pecans

Combine all ingredients for the crust until well mixed.
 Grease 9x13 pan
*This recipe tastes especially good on cold, snowy days :)
Scrape down mixing bowl and form crust into a ball.
Plop the crust into the pan.
Spread the crust out with your fingers
and do your best to get it evenly spread out.
Combine all the ingredients for the filling adding the pecans last.
Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned.
Let  cool for about 10 minutes
and then spread filling on top.
Bake again at 350 for 15-20 or until set and browned.
Let cool, top with powdered sugar and cut into squares.

Easy recipe for a fun holiday treat.
The bars taste best if they are eaten fresh or the next day.
