Current Favorite Kid Books

Hey!! I'm back.  We're off and running with kindergarten.  Everything is going great!!

I know that lots of you are in back to school mode right now.  Whether you're prepping to send kids, prepping your classrooms, looking for a fun gift for nieces or nephews, or prepping your kids for the upcoming year at home... I hope you find a new book here!!  Olive started kindergarten yesterday and is already a big fan.

I have six really cute books to tell you about today.  We've been reading them all this month and have been really enjoying them.  Kevin picked out #1 and #4 to surprise Olive in our back to school prep.  We all loved them!  They were so excited to have their dad surprise them with books.  Here's to hoping both kids will love reading as much as we do.

1. We Do Not Eat Our Classmates
by Ryan T Higgins

A funny story about the dos and don'ts of making new friends at school.

2. The Friend Ship
By Kat Yeh

A sweet story about finding friends in unexpected places.

3. Be Kind
By Pati Zietlow Miller

A great story about how a little kindness can go a long way.  It inspires kids to look for ways to be kind to everyone.  I love that it gives specific examples and gives you lots of things to talk about with your kids.

4. On the First Day of Kindergarten
by Tish Rabe

A fun story to help your little ones get excited about going to kindergarten.

5. Thelma the Unicorn
By Aaron Blabey

A joyful book about learning to love who you are... even if you don't have sparkle.

  3. "We Don't Eat Our Classmates." This may be one of the greatest book titles ever. I kind of want to read it.
