Fall Break Fun

We had a fun, low key Fall break that look differently than I'd planned.  Such is 2020.  We were supposed to head out of town for a family wedding, see family and get away for a bit, but due to COVID, we had to make some changes.  We stayed in town and enjoyed ourselves.

Olive had one request - go on a solo shopping trip with mom - and Fletcher was bummed to have such a long break from school that just started in early October.  Kevin only had off on Friday.  He had lots of work to do so he spent his day off catching up on work.

We shopped, we crafted, we decorated, we played and we relaxed.  It was nice.  The leaves are beautiful in Indiana right now and the weather has been lovely.

A new gourmet cotton candy shop opened in town this month and we had to check it out.  I surprised the kids with an outing there.  You could buy prepackaged cotton candy or spin a cone of your own.  The choice was obvious - make our own.  Olive picked Cherry Pie and Fletcher picked Caramel Apple.  Both were delicious.  Leo was bummed he couldn't have a cone of his own.  We will be back.

Fall leaves and flowers!  The kids love playing in the leaves, crunching them on walks and the colors are so pretty.  Leo was super interested in the crunchy leaves.  He kept feeling them with his toes and crunching them with his hands.  He would have liked to taste them if I would have allowed it.

Kevin surprised me with this bouquet from the grocery store.  He said it looked like Fall & sunshine :)

Olive's solo shopping trip included the mall, Claire's, Children's Place, Sams and lots of chatting.  She's so much fun to be around.  It was really nice to be out and about with just her.  She doesn't get my full attention very often these days so this was a good reminder for me to try to carve out time with just her.  She picked out new earrings, a little stuffed animal and we got her some leggings for winter.  Also, 2020 is so weird - wearing masks, walls full of scrunchies, etc.

Leo turned 6 months old.  He's getting so big.

Sneak peek of our family pictures!  We had a great time and ended up with some really cute pics.

We had some friends over for dinner.  Kevin grilled and I made Hershey brownies.

LOTS of kitten snuggles.  They love to snuggle with each other and the kids give them lots of love.  We love these sweet calico sisters.

When are your kids on Fall Break?

  3. We don't have a fall break. We get out the full week of Thanksgiving but that is it. This has been a long stretch of school.
