Happy Friday! We had a nice Mother's Day weekend, packed in a lot of fun things during the week and I felt super special in the midst of toddler teething/tantrums :) Real life Mother's Day at its finest. The best parts of our week were:

MOTHER'S DAY
We had a fun weekend and I got what I hoped for - a picture with my kids, planted flowers together and take out for dinner. Hooray!! Kevin and I both got to see our moms on Friday and then he had fun things planned for us all weekend.

PARTIES
May seems to be a busy month for everyone. We worked hard to plan a fun party for my mom last week and I love all of the paper party products I found for it. We are also working hard on Olive's 4th birthday party. It's going to be a mermaid shell-abration!!

FRIENDS
We had some friends in town this week and had a blast with them. The kids play great together and I enjoy the adult conversation. I made brunch for us and it was delicious. Stay tuned for a coffee cake and breakfast casserole recipe in the near future.
Some other friends got some chicks this week so we had fun going to meet them. Olive loved them and I loved that they belonged to our friends. 2 cats and 2 kids is enough for me to keep track of :)

DATE NIGHT
I secretly planned a fun date night this week for us. I wanted to celebrate Kevin wrapping up a busy semester. We have a great babysitter that the kids love so I booked her for Wednesday night. I texted Kevin that afternoon with a surprise invitation and he was shocked. I'm not a very spontaneous person so he appreciated it even though I'd been working behind the scenes all week. He called right away and was so excited. It was wonderful to have the evening to ourselves and to enjoy a nice calm, quiet dinner out. What a treat!

OUTSIDE
We've been playing outside a lot this week. The weather has been great. We went to a preschool bug class and Olive got introduced to BINGO. She LOVED it. We played at the park, went for walks and spent a lot of time in our backyard. I'm not super excited about a rainy weekend ahead because we all enjoying being outside since it's not super hot yet.

ReplyDeleteYay for date nights. Enjoy your weekend.
What a great week, Whitney! You are so sweet to plan a date for your hubby. :) I can't wait to hear more about Olive's party! Hip hip hooray for May birthdays!
ReplyDeleteYay for surprise dates, lots of fun with friends and amazing weather!! You guys had such a great week!! Crossing my fingers don't get as much rain as they are forecasting this weekend- I loving the sunshine and time outdoors so much!! Hope you have a fun weekend friend!
ReplyDeleteThat chick photo, so stinking sweet. Can't wait for those recipes your recipes always make me happy. Oh, btw my walmart didn't have that dressing. Fingers crossed that Target comes through for me. I could try another walmart too. The marketplace one sometimes has some items the others don't.
ReplyDeleteYay for a spontaneous date! I need to plan something like that!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great week! I love that you got in a date night, those can be hard to come by sometimes.
ReplyDeleteYour date night hair is KILLER- seriously, looks fab! Can't wait to see mermaid party things, there are so many cute mermaid things out right now and my mom was so disappointed that wasn't L's theme. I just don't feel like she's quite into it enough yet- maybe next year she'll be ready to "dive in" (corny pun intended) hehe
