Happy Friday!!
I feel like we are crawling to the weekend finish line. My kids have been sick for over a week. I've lost count how many times I've been thrown up on, given medicine, snuggled a fevery baby, we've been in our pjs all week and the loads of laundry won't stop. The kids never been this sick and I'm ready for everyone to be better. I feel like I just have a cold now and that's manageable, Kevin's doing okay, Olive is on the mend and Fletcher is still the worst. He's now added teething to list list of troubles so wish us luck on figuring out how to have a happy AND healthy new year.
We did have some sweet moments in the midst of all the germs so I'll document those for you today. We're still riding on our Christmas break high and enjoy all of our new things, having Kevin home a little more than usual and we got SNOW yesterday.

My Favorite Christmas Gifts:
Duck Boots
I've been wanting a pair of duck boots for a while now, but had trouble deciding on a color combination. I saw these gray Sperry boots at Macys and knew they'd be perfect! They're warm (but not too toasty), comfortable and not very heavy. I love the light and dark gray with the brown laces. They were on sale for under $100 after Christmas so I was thrilled. Do you have any duck boots?
Kate Spade Kitchen
Anyone
who knows me knows that I adore Kate Spade. I love her accessories and
now I'm adding her line of kitchen things to my love list. I got this
beautiful polka-dot pitcher and set of 4 striped dessert plates for
Christmas. They're so pretty, great quality and really reasonable at
Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Hobby Lobby Regram!
My front door + berry wreath made its debut on Hobby Lobby's instagram feed.
I was excited to see it get over 3,000 likes and some publicity :)

My husband loves cinnamon rolls and I wanted to make him a special treat this week. He's done several grocery store and pharmacy runs, helped me at all hours of the night and helped save my sanity this week. I wasn't up for homemade rolls so I whipped up a small pan of cinnamon roll monkey bread. It's super easy and super delicious. The main ingredient is a can of cinnamon rolls and Cinnabon rolls are my favorite. He loved the treat and so did I.

Happy January!
I have always struggled with decorations for January. I'm ready to be done with Christmas after New Years, but don't have many winter decorations. I found these beautiful paper fans at TJ Maxx and knew they'd be perfect for my January mantel. I love the silver and gold theme and have had fun decorating with it. It feels wintery and is definitely a fun way to kick off the new year. I'm hoping to add some glass candle sticks to it, but I can't find them right now.

SMILES
There have been more tears than smiles from my kids this week so it makes me extra thankful for the smiles. They're loving their new Christmas gifts and it's fun to have new toys to play with since we haven't left the house in a week.

ReplyDeleteI wish I was your neighbor for many reasons but this week it would be to have some of that monkey bread! It looks ridiculously delicious.
ReplyDeleteNew to your blog and love it! I had a monkey bread total fail on Christmas morning, so I will have to try your recipe!
ReplyDeleteI have those duck boots in black, but boy am I loving yours!!!
ReplyDeleteYay for your wreath shout out! Duck boots are a mid-Atlantic staple, as our snow always immediately turns into slushy yuckiness. (Except this time- we got the real deal like you're probbly used to!!) glad everyone is finally on the mend!
ReplyDeleteI hate that your first week of the new year was plagued with sickness, but it looks like you truly made the best of it. Those Kate Spade dishes are gorgeous! What a fun thing that Hobby Lobby regrammed your picture - it was definitely worthy of a repost. That's so cool! I love that you made a treat for Kevin even though your kids were extra needy - what a great example of not neglecting your marriage even when things are crazy. <3 Your mantle decor is so lovely! My Mom made some of those for a shower and has since used them in several places in her home. They're so unique! Hope everyone stays well next week!
