Smiles from the Week

Another fun week at our house.
It was quite chilly in Mississippi this week and we LOVED it.  You better believe we pulled out our sweaters, layers, heavy coats and played outside to enjoy the temps in the 20s.  Our family in Indiana was snowed in for the whole week so we were slightly jealous of their snow.

The best parts of our week:
1. I made chocolate chip cookies TWICE this week.  They are my very favorite cookie so it doesn't take much convincing for me to whip up a batch.  I made some for Mardi Gras to share with our neighbors (and realized that I was grossly unprepared with typical Mardi Gras colors) and then I made another batch for my MOPS group.

 2. My parents sent me a TJ Maxx gift card for Valentine's Day and I had a great time picking out a few new things for the house.  I bought two of these blue metal orbs for my mantle and I can't wait to show you how I've styled them.  They are just lovely!!  And then I found this darling bunny family of three and just had to have it.  I'm going to find a spot in our backyard for it after I use it as an Easter decoration this Spring.

3. I got this collapsible basket for Christmas and I use it ALL the time.  I always have my hands full when I leave the house so this helps keep me organized and allows my hands to be free.  It's perfect for running errands, taking treats somewhere and it folds completely flat for storage.  This one is less than $15 on Amazon

4. I shared this recipe for Banana Bread Pancakes earlier in the week and we had them for breakfast several days.  They were the perfect combination of pancake and banana bread.

 5. We've been eating a TON of salads recently so I shared my favorite recipes here.  I love grilled chicken on salads, tons of veggies and I'm always in the mood for a fruit/nut/cheese salad.  My secret to eating lots of salads: have all the ingredients on hand and be sure to make a variety of salads so you don't get sick of eat the same salad over and over again.  I just bought shelled edamame, yummy cheese and broccoli slaw for our salads next week.

Any big plans for your weekend??

Hope you have a great one!!
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  5. I love that you put sprinkles in your chocolate chip cookies! I need a collapsable basket - I want one at the top and one at the bottom of the stairs to bring stuff up and down. You can't beat $15!
