The Highlights

The best parts of my week were...

1. The flowers are in full bloom in Arkansas and they are BEAUTIFUL!!
We have been going on many walks to enjoy them.

2. I made a new salad this week and it was SO GOOD!!
Grilled Chicken Strawberry Salad

3. I got Olive's Easter basket done this week!!
I love everything about it - the monogram, the books, girl bunny ears, carrot bubbles, etc.
Check out this post to see the details.

4. I decided to buy some okra at the store this week
but I have no clue how to prepare it.
Do you eat okra??  How should I fix it??
I've never tasted it but it seemed like a Southern thing I should figure out.

5. My baby is ON THE MOVE!!
Olive is crawling, climbing, pulling up and into e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g!!
She's my little "helper" who doesn't appreciate the baby proofing that we've done.
She shakes the baby gate and is aspiring to be a little Houdini.
Happy 10 months baby girl :)

My Finish This statements for the week:
I don't get enough...
sleep.
The combination of night owl + newish baby = a tired me.
My favorite indulgence...
is strolling around TJ Maxx, Marshalls or thrift shops looking for a great deal.
I made a major change in my life when...
I got married, moved across the country {Indiana to Utah}, got my first real job
and now I'm a SAHM living in Arkansas.  LOTS of change in the last 10 years.
You should read...
a real book.
Take the time to pull yourself away from you gadgets
and hold a book (or two) in your hands.  There's nothing like it :)
LISTS are my secret ingredient in...
life.  I couldn't function without them. I've got lists on my phone, lists in my planner, lists for my husband, lists for traveling, lists for upcoming events... lists keep me sane.

Thanks for stopping by!!  Hope you have a great weekend!!

  1. Your salad reminded me of a salad that you can get at Izzy's in Little Rock. Man is that thing good! The only way I've ever had okra is fried and it is very good. I'm sure there are healthier options out therel

  6. My favorite way to eat fresh okra is chopped up (the way you'd chop it for fried okra) and simmered on the stove with canned tomatoes and some onion. Oh yum!!!!
