We had a really fun weekend with the air show in town. We got to meet the clydesdale horses, watch tons of cool planes fly and see the Blue Angels. We loved it all. We did not actually attend the airshow for a variety of reasons, but still enjoyed a lot of the fun. Fletcher doesn't love loud noises, the show was during nap time and it was HOT. Thank goodness we live near the airport and got to see a lot of planes from home.
I took the kids after school to meet the clydesdale horses. Olive LOVES horses. Unfortunately, the clouds were looming and it rained off and on. They had to modify the show a bit, but we all made the best of it. We got to meet the dalmatian that travels with the horses, pet the horses and check out their wagon. It was really neat!
We couldn't believe how big, beautiful and friendly the clydesdales were. We lined up and waiting to meet them. When we went to pose with the horses, they'd lean into you and seemed to love the attention. They'd sniff you, nuzzled Olive's head (totally made her day!) and were so well behaved. We all enjoyed meeting them.
We made edible airplanes for a snack. The kids LOVED it!
We watched planes fly over our neighborhood for several days. The kids loved it! We went to an empty parking lot nearby to watch The Blue Angels. It was so cool! I hadn't seen them perform since I was a kid. We actually ended up going to watch them both Saturday and Sunday. The second performance was even better than the first. Such a fun thing to come to our city!
We are already looking forward to the next show and maybe being able to go see the planes up close :)
That is so cool that you got to see it without having to be in the crowd! I love the Clydesdales too! The snack airplanes are too cute!
ReplyDeleteLove those Clydesdales! They are totally gorgeous. Yes to the blue angels! So smart to watch them from a parking lot. We always went to their show in Seattle - it was a summer highlight!
ReplyDeleteI love watching the Blue Angels.. and agree, it's much better to watch away from a crowd. The Clydesdales are gorgeous!
