We took a quick weekend trip to watch all the bowl games at my in laws. We managed to visit with some family, have coffee dates with friends and enjoy the weekend. It was nice to come back home this week and get back to our regular day to day routines. I planned some healthy meals, stocked up on fruits and veggies and enjoyed being home.
The best parts of our week were...
1. We had fun watching Notre Dame play in their bowl game last weekend. It would have been fun for them to win, but we had fun eating game day food, wearing our game day apparel and putting on our game faces. Until next year college football :)
2. I've been craving lots of healthy foods this week - fruit, salads and colorful meals. Then I decided we needed some sweets so we whipped up some Funfetti cupcakes. They were just as delicious and they were pretty. I always used a boxed cake mix and make homemade buttercream frosting. The more sprinkles the better!! Olive helped me with the cupcakes and I did the frosting during her nap time.
3. We announced our baby boy's name this week so it was fun to hear all the nice comments. We can't wait to meet little Fletcher this Spring.
4. I decided on my word of the year and made some goals for the new year.
Do you have one little word for 2016??
5. We started house hunting again after the holidays. We saw several homes this week and have some strong contenders. Our parents are coming in town this weekend for a quick visit to give us some second opinions. Olive walked through every house and said, "Good for my toys!" every time she entered a room. It was cute to involve her in the house hunting process, but it's kind of exhausting to look at a house, watch a toddler closely and make sure you see everything. Thank heavens for 2nd and 3rd visits to properties.
Hope you have some fun plans for your weekend!
We are hoping to do make the most of the rainy days and enjoy just being home. Olive loves her new toys from Christmas and we're excited to relax.

Good luck with the house hunt! It can be fun and it can be overwhelming all at the same time--I hope you guys find "the one"! What week could be bad when funfetti cupcakes are involved?? :)
ReplyDeletePrayers for you in the house hunt! It can be so fun but also stressful hoping it all falls in place at the right time.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!

House hunting is both exciting and exhausting. Hopefully y'all will find a great place soon. One day you need to share your buttercream frosting recipe. We are just relaxing too this weekend. It is going to rain so we'll be stuck inside. I might get around to letting Jack do his Valentine art project. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteFunfetti is the best!! Good luck with the house hunt!!

What a great week! I just say that your cupcakes look professionally done! And such a cute little helper :-) I don't know if my other comments ever showed up on your other posts, but I wanted to tell you I am loving your new baby boy's name! And the items that your husband found are just the coolest things!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend, Whitney !
We have been house hunting for three years... sigh. I think we are too picky, but after owning one house, we now know what we want. Good luck to you!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's because I'm cutting out sweets but those cupcakes are calling my name.
ReplyDeleteWhile your team didn't win, mine did. I meant to "harass" you about it on Facebook and didn't. O! H! ;)
Wow that frosting looks great! I love that name! House hunting is rough, all the best!
ReplyDeleteI'm expecting a baby boy this Spring too.. how fun! You chose such a sweet name! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the name Fletcher!! Your kids have the cutest names :) Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love Olive's serious face. Hard to imagine what troubles caused that, haha.
ReplyDeleteOlive reminds me so much of my sister at that age (which is a good thing, Alli was the most adorable toddler). Those cupcakes look amazing and I don't even really like cupcakes. I was sad for you when I heard ND lost that game! Hope you all have a great weekend!

Olive is so cute. You know, the last time we went house hunting, we had 3 weeks to find and close on a house. We ended up purchasing the 4th house we looked at on our 1st day of looking, but it was perfect for us. Sometimes you just know!

Those cupcakes look delicious! Good luck house hunting, friend!
ReplyDeleteYes, I sadly put most of my Irish gear up for the year. They get so close to winning these bowl games! Good luck on the house hunting!! I don't officially have a word of the year, but I guess I'm going with Live. Funfetti is my favorite type of cake! And yes, the more sprinkles the better! :)
