Copy Cat DQ Ice Cream Cake

While I was home my mom insisted on making an ice cream cake.

She said she found it on Pinterest and it was delish!!

The recipe is from relativetaste and seems really easy to make.

Everyone loved it!!

 This would be a perfect dessert to commemorate the end of summer :)

High Five for Friday

It's been a really crazy week getting back into the school routine.

Luckily, the kids aren't back yet so I'm getting a lot done :)

The highlights of my week were:

1. I got some adorable cupcakes for my desk from a good friend.
They go perfectly with my theme this year Learning is a Treat!

2. I spent HOURS working in my classroom this week.
I got everything done and tackled THE CLOSET!!

 ahhhhhh... much better!!

 I keep opening the doors just to peek inside.

3. What's better than having your own garden??
Having a friend with a garden :)

I've never eaten Banana Squash so I'm intrigued.  

4. I'm not the only one who's enjoying my latest Thirty-One bag.

5. I was doing my regular grocery shopping and stumbled upon these:

How many seasons have you been around???
I snatched them up and can't wait to bring them out
to celebrate the kick off of college football next weekend.

Family Tour

When we are in Indiana, we go on the family tour

to see as many family members as possible.

We had tons of gatherings and events to make this happen.

Thanks to the moms for doing lots of cooking.

 My parent's dog, Maxx.

He's had a rough summer 

so I was glad that he seemed to perk up when we came home.

How is it that I'm the oldest and the shortest??

 We always love hanging out with these adorable grandparents.

 Somehow I forgot to get pictures with all the family we got to see!

Guess I was too busy enjoying our time together :)

Being an Aunt is one of My Favorite Jobs

I have 7 nieces/nephews and one on the way.

I love hanging out with these little people

and feel lucky to have spent the last few weeks with them.

Eleanor was born on July 10th so we were anxious to get to meet her.

Isn't she adorable?!?!

Everyone wanted to hold her.

 My little bro is all grown up!

 She thinks I'm pretty hilarious :)

 My idea of turning straw wrappers into cat whiskers was well received.

"Isn't this a good idea, Aunt Whitney??"  silly boy

 Hayden calls Addison "My good friend Addison" :)

 I actually have an Addison on both sides of our family.

This Addison was really proud of her new glasses.

 I got to hang out with Addison one afternoon.

We painted nails

 went shopping at a little girls' paradise for new hairbows for school

 and read some good books.

 I'm missing those kiddos!!
