Happy Friday!

Happy Friday!  We're still buried in snow, but school was back in session this week.  We navigated two hour delays and virtual days and are ready for the weekend.

The best parts of our week were:

1. Date night +1.  The big kids had plans with friends so Leo joined us for a date night at Longhorn.  He loved the extra attention and we kept commenting that it has been YEARS since we only had one kid at home to take care of.  It gave us a tiny glimpse of the future with older kids.

The kids were fine with friends and just texted to say goodnight to the cats.  We sent goodnight photos and picked them up the next morning.

2. Hugs from home!  My inspiration for packing lunches for my kids - to give them a big hug from home in the middle of their school day.  That gives me motivation to shop for their favorite groceries, prepare their favorite foods and pack lunches they will love five days a week.  15 lunches for them and 5 lunches for me.  And we all open our lunch boxes excited for some extra love from home during our school days.

3. Another fun morning at Deep Blue!  The boys play and Olive and I hang out, chat and get a few things done.

4. Pumpkin doesn't love to be held, but he loves to find you in a cozy spot and sit beside you.  Fletcher might be his favorite, but we all try hard to earn that title.

5. Slow days at home in our pjs are my favorite.  We'll take a snow day or a two hour delay any day.  A major perk of me being on the boy's same schedule.

6. We still have SO MUCH SNOW!  But the deer and the turkeys came out of the woods this week to look for some food.  It was fun to see them running around in the snow.

7. Cooking with Leo.  He loves to help in the kitchen.  We made muffins and chicken noodle soup this week.  Both of the boys love helping me cook.

8. Leo is becoming a great reader and writer this year.  His confidence has grown so much in kindergarten.  This was my bedtime note one night this week.  Love him!

9. Mr Mittens is doing very well after a scary January.  He's happier, purrs more and is friendlier than usual.  I think he's thankful to be alive, honestly.  But he still cracks us up with his grumpy faces and his preference of snuggling with legos and books in baskets over people.

10. Leo's teacher stamped apple hand prints of all the kids at the beginning of the school year.  I couldn't wait to frame it.  I added some lined school paper in the background.  It's the sweetest!  Also, Walmart has some really great frames right now.

Another fun kindergarten thing - I get to see Leo's work and know exactly what he's doing because my class is doing the same thing.  It's fun to see his work compared to my students.  He's been on a perfect streak for his Friday assessments.  Wow!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  See you back here on Monday.
