IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!!
Olive is getting a baby "brudder" this Spring!!
We had a check up at 12.5 weeks and my doctor told me he thought it was a boy. I was a little skeptical of being able to find out so early so I was looking forward to our 16 week appointment to confirm the gender.
Kevin, Olive and I got to go to my 16 week doctor's appointment together last Friday and were happy to share that moment. Olive loved the entire appointment and did not like it that I had to get a shot (bloodwork). She was really into seeing the baby on the screen and pointing out the features - head, arms, hand, legs, etc. Baby boy was super cooperative and showed off for his photo shoot. He waved, sucked his thumb and made sure we could easily confirm that he was a BOY. The doctor was so sweet to include Olive and talk her through the images, print out tons of pictures for us and I'll always treasure the memories from this visit.

We'd guessed we were having a boy all along so this appointment was no shock. My cravings had been completely opposite from my first pregnancy (meat, meat and more meat!) and we'd just always called this baby a boy from the start. We are thrilled to be blessed with this little boy and are eager to learn how to be the best little boy parents possible. We are kind of clueless about raising a little boy so we're just praying that we are super parents to this little man that is coming to complete our family.
Olive is going to be a great big sister and she's very eager to announce "I big sister" and "baby brudder" to anyone that will listen. She is obsessed with our ultrasound pictures and calls them "our baby". It's darling. Blue looks good on our family :)
Baby BOY we cannot wait to meet you this Spring!!
Olive is eager waiting for a playmate.
Bring on the blue and the bow ties!!
Congratulations! I love the first picture you put together with all the boy things. Boys are so much fun and FULL of energy. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! :) I have two boys and they are so much fun! Just started following your blog and I love reading all of your posts!
ReplyDeleteOh I'm so happy for you!!! There is nothing like the way a boy loves his mama! Yay!!
ReplyDeleteSo so so exciting! Isn't it funny how you don't know what/when with the second child but once it all happens just seems like the perfect fit! We knew this one was a boy...and when we found out otherwise, a little girl just seemed perfect. I'm so excited for you guys. Olive will love having a baby brother!! And you get a reason for some blue, some new clothes, and potentially a new nursery theme! Can't wait to hear more about how everything is doing. Hope you are feeling well!
ReplyDeleteAww yay! Congratulations!! So exciting - Olive is going to be the best big sister to a little brother :)
ReplyDeleteYay for a boy!!! I'm so excited for y'all! Olive is going to make a great big sister. You are just gonna love being a boy mama.
ReplyDeleteSo fun! Your little guy will feel right at home in your football loving home! :) Congratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteMay I suggest the book "Bringing Up Boys" by Dr. James Dobson? It's an excellent read and you are welcome to have my copy if you'd like. It's in great condition. I know you and Kev will be naturals at raising a son, but this book is really solid Christian advice about bringing up boys. It's practically a staple in a lot of Christian homes where little boys have grown into amazing men. Anyways, if you'd like to take a peek at it, I'm all finished with it and won't ever need it again! So I can ship it to you anytime, just let me know via text! I love you!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I still can't believe you guys are having a boy! I had a feeling all along, but finding out was the most exciting moment ever! One of my top three happiest moments for you guys! Love you! XOXOXOXO Aunt Jen to Baby Olive & Baby Boy Jordan
Congrats!!! 💙💙💙
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteAwwwh congrats! If Olive is anything like my niece Peyton, she will be attached to his hip! She has been nurturing and sweet to little Tate. Again congrats!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhitney, I love your post about having a boy. I have a friend who is 14 weeks pregnant and they found out they were have a girl yesterday. I joked at work today that pretty soon the pregnancy tests would say "Congratulations, you're pregnant and you are having a boy/girl." considering how early one can find out these days. I can't believe that Olive is 2+. It doesn't seem that long ago that we were taking reading classes at the U and you weren't even remotely pregnant at the time. Congratulations again. I bet Olive will be a great big sister. And so fantastic of you to include her all things baby.
