Let's talk about HAIR

My hair has been through a lot in the last 1.5 years...
postpartum hair loss
new baby hair growth around my face
and adjusting to humidity central Mississippi

I'm loving my shorter hair and am glad I made the change.  I had long hair for a long time and it was time for something different.  I get comfortable and like routines, so sometimes change is hard for me.  I've learned over the last year that sometimes you need to force yourself out of your comfort zone and take a risk!!

My hair is naturally curly and I prefer to wear it straight.
So I've been on the hunt for some new products to help make my hair look good in this humid climate.

I've started using my curling wand and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!
I had always used my old school curling iron to create waves because I thought it was easier.  I was wrong.  I made myself take time to learn how to use my curling wand and it was really easy.  I can do my whole head in about HALF the time it took with my barrel curling iron and the curl LASTS SO MUCH LONGER with the wand.

 My typical routine is:
I blow dry, straighten and curl my hair and then refresh it for the next two days.  The curl from my wand lasts for days and looks great!!  I use dry shampoo, refresh/recurl a bit and then go over it with sleek cream & a bit of hair spray.  Done!  Trust me, it's fast because I don't have time to spend hours on my hair each day.

Are you a fan of the curling wand??

Here's the Remington hair wand that I use.

My current favorite hair products:

Suave has really stepped up their game lately--
I'm LOVING their dry shampoo!
It's less than $3, leaves very little residue and it smells like grapefruit

I also LOVE their
Sleek anti-frizz cream
It's also less than $3!!
It's light, does the anti-frizz job beautifully and gives your hair a bit of shine.
I can use it several days in a row with little to no build up or weighing down of my hair.

I've also been using Argan oil
on damp hair to restore shine
thanks to a friend's recommendation

Some days I miss Utah weather of nearly humidity free days every day.  Man, I had some good hair days there :)  But, I'm learning to adjust to the humidity again and my hair is getting the hang of it thanks to all of these products.

  8. I'm a curling wand girl too. Was a user of hot rollers for YEARS and then finally bought a curling wand. Love it! I'm also loving your new hair cut! You may have inspired me to get mine cut a tad shorter.
