How We Love, Welcome, Serve

Are you familiar with Amy Hannon and her Love, Welcome, Serve motto??

She runs a darling kitchen boutique called Euna Mae's in Arkansas and is a hoot to follow on social media (@ eunamaes ).  She has a giant heart for Jesus, is a pastor's wife and has three kids in college.  You'll love her.  She wrote a cookbook last year called Love, Welcome, Serve and I'm a big fan.

She's so inspiring as a parent, as a wife and as a woman.  I love her!!

The highlights of her cookbook, for me, are these recipes:
Brown Sugar Chili
Hearty Homemade Chicken and Dumplins
Scratch Dinner Rolls
Preacher's Chocolate Cake
Chocolate Peanut Butter Dream Pie

Her recipes come with beautiful pictures and sweet stories.

I'm always looking for ways to Love, Welcome, Serve others in my home.

The latest gathering we held at our house was our Back to School Burger Night for Kevin's grad students.  It's our 3rd year to host them and I look forward to it every year.  We don't ask them to bring anything.  They just show up, visit and enjoy a home cooked meal.

I sent out evites to all the students.  I'm always on the hunt for pretty blue party supplies.  I loved the wrapping paper table runners I put on every table.  I found some really great paper from TJ Maxx for just $2.99.

This year I made some cute party favor chocolate dipped pretzels.  They were a big hit!

Our kids love having the students at our house.  They enjoy hanging out with them.  Fletcher was mostly helpful the day of as we were prepping for the party.  He was excited about the chalkboard.

Kevin always looks forward to this gathering, too.

The menu was simple:
Burgers
Chips & fresh salsa
Veggies & hummus
Fruit salad
Cornbread casserole
Cookies

Everyone loved the Fresh Avocado Salsa

My go to Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe

Now I'm on to thinking about ways to love, welcome, serve my friends, neighbors, family and students in September.
