Happy Week!

We had a fun week at our house.  It was filled with a surprise visit from my parents, play dates, dinner with my friends, work on the new house and a lunch date with Kevin.  The week flew by and we don't really have any big plans for our weekend.

The best parts of our week were:

Cookies
I found these Butterfinger Baking Bits at Meijer a few weeks ago and was excited to bake with them.  I usually buy Butterfingers and crush them up so these bits saved me a lot of time.  I made some cookies for our family and friends working on our house this week.  They were a hit!  Here's my recipe.

We love Dad!
We had a great Father's Day weekend!  We ate a yummy brunch, did fun things all weekend and just enjoyed doing all of Kevin's favorite things.  It was Fletcher's first Father's Day so it was sweet to celebrate as a family of four.  Kevin loves football so he really loved these cute little football foot prints for his office.

Eat the Rainbow
We're keeping up with our plan to eat LOTS of salads and healthy foods.  Here's my favorite salad of the week on my favorite plaid plates and Olive's favorite kid meal of the week.  We are trying hard to eat colorful, healthy meals so that means more frequent trips to the grocery store and lots of chopping up veggies.  I don't mind either, but have to plan those activities into my week.

New House Projects
My parents texted me on Monday morning to say they were on their way up to my house.  They planned to work at the house and were excited to see us.  They worked hard, we visited and then ate some yummy Mexican for dinner.  Olive was in heaven and it was fun for them to see Fletcher smiling and "talking" more.  My dad finished up our new custom master closet and it's amazing!!  He attached new hardware to our island, painted, worked on refinishing floors with Kevin and installed new fixtures in our bathroom.  My mom cleaned for us and tidied up the place.  Now we're waiting on our new carpet to come in and be installed.

Girls Night Out
I had dinner with some of my girl friends one evening this week!  We had a great time catching up and eating at a favorite local spot.  I got the grilled cheese + bacon + pulled pork on a pretzel bun sandwich with a side of hash brown balls.  It was just as delicious as it sounds.  The company was great and so was the food!

Cute Kid Moments
Fletcher had a great well check this week!  He's almost 15 pounds at 11 weeks old and doing great!  He's babbling a lot, blowing bubbles, sticking his tongue out when he's really happy and had a couple of nights where he slept 5+ hours in a row.  I'm hoping for more of those for both of us :)
Olive was thrilled to play with friends, get a hair cut by me and excited that I gave her the okay on splashing in puddles one rainy morning!!  She's also insisting that she wear dresses every single day.  Works well for potty training and they're cute so I'm on board.
