Gifting a Box of Treats

Some of my favorite little people no longer live close by me.
I loved making treats for them and they loves sweets.
So I figured that I'd send a box of treats for them this Christmas.

The contents of their treat box:
holiday napkins
holiday plates
my favorite cookie recipe
holiday chocolate chips
set of cookie cutters
cupcake mix
festive sprinkles
holiday tin to hold sprinkles
cupcake wrappers
PEZ containers

I wrapped the items so the girls could enjoy opening them.
I also made sure that there was an even number of items to open for each girl
so that there wouldn't be any arguing :)
I hope this box brings lots of smiles and fun times over Christmas break.

Daily Smile

Tree Climber

Hi, I'm Topher and I can't stop climbing our Christmas tree.
 I just smells so nice.
One of these things is not like the other.
I ended up with some extra ribbon so I added it to my tree.
I forgot how much my kitties love ribbon.
Bad idea.
 These lights are so warm.
Real trees are the only way to go when you have climbing felines in your house.
They destroyed our artificial tree pretty quickly
and we have had three real trees survive these boys.

Christmas Card Display

I love to send out Christmas cards.
My mom always sent out photo cards
so I've continued the tradition with my family.

It's so fun to see kids growing up and families changing over the years.
I always find a door to tape all of my cards to;
I find my self looking at it all season long.
I also save the picture cards from year to year because it's so fun to look at them.

I also thought this was a clever idea
that I hope to do this year.

Faculty Christmas Party

I attended my school Christmas party last week
and had so much fun!
We played games, exchanged gifts and wore hideous sweaters.

I decorated with inexpensive tablecloths & napkins at Wal-Mart,
invitations & matching wrapping paper for runners from Michaels,
pine cones, jingle bells and ornaments.
This group of teachers did well with a word game.

Lunch was catered which was easy for everyone.

We had tons of fun with the ugly sweater theme!
Lots of people participated and we laughed all afternoon.
I'm so lucky to get to work with these fun ladies.
We gave out 8 awards and people seemed to appreciate them.

We wrapped up our party with a gift exchange.
Some people brought cute things, white elephant things...
basically anything went.

I was thrilled to come home with this polka-dotty baking dish.
 Are your work parties fun??

High Five for Friday

Christmas comes but once a year
and it's almost here!
Hope you are soaking up the holiday season
with your favorite people.

The best parts of my week were...

1. My house seems so happy right now with all of my Christmas decorations out.
Everywhere I turn I smile because there is something cute at every turn.

 2. I've been slacking on the bed making lately
and I think Oliver loves me MORE because of it.
He seems deliriously happy snuggled up in all the blankets.

3. We made our gingerbread house this week.
Sadly, it lasted less than a half an hour before it all crumbled.
The icing was not gluey enough.
Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
4. A little girl in my class gave these out as Christmas favors.
Hot chocoate mix, treats and a mini wisk
The card read. "We WHISK you a merry Kissmas"
The kids loved them.

5. The boys can't get enough of our real Christmas tree.

Gift Wrapping Kit

One of my students gave me an adorable
Gift Wrapping Kit
for Christmas this year.
It would be an easy gift to put together for friends, co-workers, teachers, neighbors, etc.
Let me break it down for you:
 A note saying,
"Here's a little hand to help you to start your Holiday season.
Thanks for all your helping hands this year."
inexpensive small container to hold everything
Scotch tape
scissors
2 pairs of gloves
adorable gift tags
chocolate thin mint cookies
 These are too cute:
variety of ribbons, sizes and some have metal bling on them
Merry Christmas!
