A Magical Unicorn Birthday

Olive has been obsessed with unicorns for a long time so it was easy to pick her birthday party theme this year.  She turned five last week.  We had the best time picking out party supplies, shopping for the perfect unicorn items and everything came together nicely.

I'll do my best to tag where everything is from in case you're in unicorn party planning mode, too.

Happy Birthday, Olive!  We traveled to Southern Indiana to celebrate with our families the weekend before her birthday.  We partied with my family Friday night and Kevin's family Saturday night.  Tons of fun with both crews.

Target had tons of cute unicorn stuff.  I ordered all of the napkins, plates, straws, etc months ago when all of their party supplies were on sale.  It looks like they've still got lots of unicorn party supplies online, but I couldn't find links for the exact items I bought.

I did a quick photo shoot of Olive in our backyard so I'd have a picture for her birthday party invitation.  This was the winning shot :)  Love her Matilda Jane dress, unicorn from Build a Bear and unicorn headband from Target.  Might need to frame this one for her room!

We did favor bags for all the cousins.  I picked up note pads, jewelry, favor bags and unicorns back at Valentine's Day and saved them for her birthday party.  Walmart had the cutest unicorn horn party hats.  I picked up several packs of those for under $1.

Fresh flowers make every party better.  Olive picked out the roses and two kinds of carnations at Walmart.  Then I added boxwoods, hydrangeas and white yarrow to the bouquets.

We did our usual Birthday Book tradition - buy a book to go with the theme, trace your child's handprint and then have the guests sign it.  We love doing this every year.
I went with Uni the Unicorn this year for Olive.

Fletcher was eager to watch Olive open gifts.  She loved everything she got.

Hot Potato is her current favorite game!  She loved showing her cousins how to play.

Kevin is big on FUN so he bought snap & pops, made up a unicorn game, supervised side walk chalk and loved seeing all the kids having fun.

I whipped up a quick invitation for each party on Picmonkey.  I did everything the same with the wording on top and changed the details at the bottom for each party.  Printed them at Walmart and mailed them out.  I usually work with Sams for my invitations (cheaper than walmart + free envelopes), but my local Sams was having technical difficulties.

Time to party with Kevin's family.  Same party decorations just in a different arrangement.

The birthday girl requested chocolate cupcakes this year so we did funfetti and chocolate.  I topped with with cute unicorn valentines.

I'm Fletcher and I'm here for the food.  First through the line.  Had to make his sister sit down and eat.

 Bounce House fun.

She got lots of cute gifts, but the bike was the most exciting.  She rode it inside, outside and we even sang happy birthday to her while she was sitting on the bike.

Olive & baby Carter.  She just wanted to hold him and help him learn to crawl :)

  5. Another fabulous themed party! Girl, you should market your skills and do this on the side! :) I love how you planned the theme in advance and kept your eye out for the perfect decor and goodie items. We just got a new store in town called Five Below - do you have those? I was impressed at the selection of themed party supplies they carried, all $5 and under.
