1. Walmart Plates
I couldn't resist buying these confetti melamine plates at Walmart this week. They're 10 inches and really great quality for just $2.47. I picked up a set of pink and blue. I just love this speckled Terrazzo trend. My kids LOVE them and so do I. Looks like they're sold out online. Check your stores because my store still had plenty. Here's the link if you want to read more about them: Melamine Plates
2. Birthday Lunch
Fletcher turned 3 so we did our traditional birthday lunch to celebrate. Three of everything for the birthday boy :) Here's the blue version of that Walmart plate.
3. Dinnerly
Have you heard of the meal service called Dinnerly?
You know we love Hello Fresh and have tried several other meal delivery services. Kevin had a discount coupon and decided to order it for us to try. It's advertised as the most affordable meal delivery with no frills. You print out your own recipes, sort the ingredients because they come in one big bag (as opposed to other services that package each meal up separately). It's supposed to be less waste and less fuss.
We made lettuce wraps, a coconut curry dish and burgers. The only meal we liked and ate was the lettuce wraps. They were tasty! We threw the coconut curry dish away because it was nasty and we're making the burgers this weekend.
I wanted to tell you about this service and say that we WOULD NOT recommend it. We felt like it was a lot of work to do all the extra steps - print out the recipes, sort all the ingredients for 3 recipes and did not like the food. Avoid Dinnerly!!
4. Step 2 Up and Down Roller Coaster
We got Fletcher this roller coaster toy for his birthday and he's obsessed!! He rides it all the time and I think we'll get a ton of use out of it this Spring/Summer/Fall. It's sturdy enough that Olive (almost 6) can ride it, too. I love that it's a toy he can play with completely independently and his face looks like this every single time he rides it. haha
Our Sams store carried this coaster for $74.98. It's on amazon for more. Definitely look for it at Sams if you have one nearby or at least shop around to get the best price.
I'm getting back into the routine of shopping at Aldi after a few weeks away. Wal-Mart grocery pick up won out for me in the name of convenience for the month of March. It's just so handy to shop at home and swing by to pick up my groceries in the morning. But it isn't the cheapest shopping I could be doing. So back to Aldi I go. I stocked up on all the sale things - grapes, sweet peppers and avocados!! Then filled my cart with as many fruits and veggies as I could.
My husband requested the Medium Aldi Salsa so we're giving that a try this week.
6. Road Trip
We loaded up the kids and headed to visit our families over Spring Break. We were so excited that Kevin and Olive had the same Spring Break this year. The kids watched movies and napped and we enjoyed catching up.
Olive had a long list of things she was hoping to get to do with Mimi.
So did I :)
We visited Divinity the Donkey and fed her carrots.
Olive got some private tennis lessons from Uncle Kyle. Kevin's brother played tennis for years and it was so cute to see them play together. Olive learned several new things and improved her skills. They've got big plans for our next tennis meet up.
Outdoor concerts :)
