I'm really excited to show you some new decorations that I received from my talented friend Tina this year. She contacted me about her new hoop painting shop recently and I loved her stuff. It's unique, pretty, great for any room of your house and you can have her do a custom piece just for you.
I've always loved painting and every now and then would make something for our house. Two years ago I made a painted burlap embroidery hoop for our front door. It was pretty simple, just an "O" and "Olsen" written over top. It was fun to do and I liked making something. One of my friends even asked if I was selling them! I wasn't at the time, but it's been at the back of my mind since then. And here we are, two years later and I finally bit the bullet to start my shop of all sorts of designs! I had so many ideas to paint but they wouldn't all fit into my house, so opening a little shop was the next step! -Tina

My set of hoops is so pretty! There's a Merry and Bright hoop, a pine tree hoop and a plaid hoop. I had a hard time deciding where to put mine because they looked great in so many spots. They ended up on my mantel and I love them!!
Now on to a little Christmas house tour of all my favorite Christmasy spots...
We have a real tree in the family room. Kevin grew up getting a real tree and I always had an artificial one. Several years into our marriage he persuaded me to give a real tree a try. We did and have never looked back! I love the smell of a real tree, love the experience of picking it out together at a local spot and love having something different each year.
The kids both have small trees in their rooms and then we have a variety of decorations all throughout the house. Irish nutcrackers, my green tree collection and I always look forward to decorating my mantel. We had plenty of years of living in an apartment with no mantel so I'm always thankful to have that spot to decorate in our home.
Reindeer in our kitchen
Our cozy corner has a giant basket of Christmas books this time of year.
The kid's trees are my favorite! They have a mix of homemade ornaments, sentimental ornaments, baby's first Christmas, monogrammed and baby things. Tiny Santa hat that Fletcher wore for a tree topper, hospital bracelets, hand prints and ornaments that were gifts all make up their trees.
What's your favorite spot to decorate in your house??
Everything looks wonderful!!! So cozy, warm and inviting!!!🎄
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, those hoops are precious! I love the Merry & Bright one, the plaid one and the personalized snowman family one!
ReplyDeleteYour house looks beautiful!
I love all your decorations!! I've always wanted a mantel and yours looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I love your collection of green trees (I think I say that every year...) and your mantle truly is "Merry and Bright!" I think it's so cozy to have a tree in your bedroom - Olive's tree is so pretty and perfect for her purple loving heart. My favorite place to decorate for Christmas is the piano, because the tree is right next to it and it makes a cozy little setting. <3 Christmas decor!!
