Christmas Favorites

We love all things Christmas this time of year - plates, coffee cups, decorations, ornaments, books and outings.  We try to squeeze in all the fun things we want during the month of December.  We plan ahead, pick things that sound fun to our family and then put them on the calendar.  We have gotten to do a lot of fun things as a family and we are hoping to drive around to look at Christmas lights, drink some hot chocolate, bake sugar cookies and spend time with friends and family in the next couple of weeks.

I thought I'd share some of our Christmas FAVORITES today:

 Favorite BOOKS:
We have a big stack of Christmas books, but these are our very favorites.  I'm reading to my kids (3.5 years and 8 months) and they request these books over and over again.
What's your favorite Christmas book?

Favorite PLATES:
I'm usually a big fan of the kid's holiday plates from Pottery Barn Kids, but I didn't love them this year.  They're pricey so I didn't want to buy them if I didn't love them.

Instead, I opted for Target Dollar Spot Christmas plates that are so cute!  I spent my monthly $10 Target budget on these this month.  They are bright and cheery and were only $1 each.  The only downside is that they are NOT microwave/dishwasher safe.  It really has not been a problem to hand wash them as needed.

I serve all the kid meals on Christmas plates in December.  They love it!

Favorite MOVIES:
My DVR is nearly at capacity with fun Christmas movies.
So far we are loving:
Elf
The Search for Santa Paws
The Santa Clause
Arthur's Christmas (not the cartoon character Arthur)
and any cartoon Christmas specials

I'm excited to watch The Holiday, Home Alone and anything on the Hallmark channel.

Favorite SHOPPING:
The majority of my shopping is brought to you by Amazon this year.  I shipped gifts from Amazon, ordered things for myself and everything showed up at my door.  I did a little shopping at Meijer and Wal-Mart, but the majority of it was done on-line.

Where did you do your shopping this year??

Share some of your Christmas FAVORITES with me :)

It's time to link up with my Target Haul ladies to see what everyone spent their $10 in December.  I loved the Christmas plates in the dollar spot and ended up spending my whole budget on those and Christmas candy.  I'm guessing I'm not the only one who bought Christmasy things.  Can't wait to see what everyone found.

  1. We have those Target plates as well and I love them and just keep washing them so we can use for every meal. :) Christmas books are the best and I have two crates full in the house.

  2. Have you seen The Holiay before? It's one of my favorites!!!
And I did 99% of my shopping on Amazon this year too!
You should try my favorite Starbucks hot chocolate (zebra + peppermint!) while looking at Christmas lights!
    See you soon! :)

  3. First of all, that pic of your family room is so cozy! I want to come over and sit right down with a kitty on my lap :)

I bought a lot on Amazon, eBay, toys r us.com and target.com. Long gone are the days when I can sneak anything in to my shopping cart at the store! How did our mothers do it? :P

  4. LOVE! Love that you shared your favorites. I also love that you have the Mortimer book! You are the only other person that I have seen share it. Isn't it so sweet. I broke some of my now plastic dishes rule and bought a few of the Target plates too. I am so glad I did!

  6. Christmas in the Manger and Turkey Claus are favorite reads for us. I bought Happy Birthday Jesus to give to L on Christmas Eve (that's when I gave her Christmas in the Manger so sticking with that for now). I bought those Target plates too! I wrapped the snowman ones for them to open Christmas so they're excited for them after I pack away the Christmas ones! Amazon, Target and TJMaxx- the usual (and favorite) suspects.

  7. I use Christmas plates/Christmas cups during December too!! I have literally maybe bough two tiny items (at Walmart) in the store- and the rest of my shopping has been online! You just can't beat having things brought right to your door step! :) Hope you're having a great day friend!

  8. I did 99% of my shopping with Amazon Prime. The only things that didn't get purchased through Amazon were just random smaller gifts that I got while in Walmart anyways. I thought I was finished with Christmas shopping and then I get told we are going to have some guests so I gotta do a little extra shopping. I'm ready for school to let out so I can fully feel the excitement.

  10. I just recently came across your blog and love it! I have three kiddos, 5, 4, and 7 months. Your posts usually talk to me. I missed those plates for Christmas! SO CUTE! I bought the adorable Halloween ones, but put them in the dishwasher... YIKES! Needless to say, they're in the trash. :/ Have a good day!

  12. I love The Holiday! Somehow I'd never watched it until this year, and it's quickly become one of my favorites. I did at least half of my shopping online. With the free shipping and cash back from Ebates, why not? :)
