Cat Birthday Party

I mentioned yesterday that my cats share a birthday

so here's what we did to celebrate!!

My cats are hard on toys and destroy them quickly

 so I get them new toys for their birthday to replenish their stock.

They loved the bags this year.

I got them toys with jingle bells, crinkly pom poms and cat nip filled mice.

 I found this toy at TJ Maxx.

A mouse with a tube connected to it.

You pressed the end and the mouse hops up.

The boys loved hunting it.

Several toys ended up in the toy graveyard (aka under the stove)

 Thanks Mom!  This was my best birthday yet!! Love, Oliver

 Canned cat food cakes that the boys thought were delish.

A great cat birthday was had by all.

Do you celebrate pet birthdays at your house?

You should!  Pets are people too :)

I can't believe that I've been blogging for a whole year.

It's gone by so quickly and I've LOVED it.

My goal was to blog for a year, reevaluate and go from there.

Well folks, the blog must go on!!

It's way too much fun to think of stopping.

I love sharing my recipes, crafting, hobbies,

fashion, teaching expertise, cat tales and more!

In honor of my little blog turning ONE,

Happy Birthday to our MEOWS!

I have two boy cats.

They have 2 very different personalities
but they are BEST friends.

They share the same birthday and are one year apart.
We found Oliver in an on-line classified & Topher came from Target's parking lot.

Topher (age 3)

Topher just can't get close enough.

He can often be found snuggling on your lap,

in the middle of a pile of papers you are grading,

under your feet anytime you are up and about,

with his paw in your cereal bowl,

jumping in the middle of your dinner table,

plopping down on the keyboard as you type,

likes to munch on rubber bands, curly ribbon, pony tail holders, 

he chews on everything (furniture, silk flowers, decorations),

he can hear a can opener from a mile away,

he is very chatty and "talks" a lot,
and he likes to be a kitty alarm clock
rubbing his face on yours well before the sun rises.

Oliver (age 4)

Oliver loves affection but it happens on his terms.

He can often be found sleeping in an empty suitcase,

nestled in a pile of blankets,

sleeping under the bed,
walking on you in the middle of the night purrrrrrring,

hanging out on top of the fridge,

lounging in the dry bath tub,

knocking over your glass of water (he loves ice cubes),

sleeping is his #1 hobby,

we have to hide his treats because he has been known to eat a whole jar full,

 and he likes to be held like a baby.

Happy Birthday Boys!!
